Setup and Assembly

Assembly requires two adults. Please follow these steps carefully. Do not use power tools for assembly as this may overtighten and damage the fasteners.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Lay them out on a soft, clean surface (e.g., a carpet or blanket) to prevent scratching.
  2. Assemble Lower Bunk: Attach the lower bunk side rails (D) to the lower bunk frame (B) using the appropriate bolts and washers from the hardware pack (I). Hand-tighten all connections initially.
  3. Install Lower Slats: Place the full-sized support slats (H) onto the lower bunk frame. Ensure they are evenly spaced and secured if applicable.
  4. Assemble Upper Bunk: Attach the upper bunk side rails (C) to the upper bunk frame (A) using the appropriate bolts and washers. Hand-tighten.
  5. Install Upper Slats: Place the twin-sized support slats (G) onto the upper bunk frame. Ensure they are evenly spaced and secured.
  6. Attach Guard Rails: Secure the guard rails (E) to the upper bunk frame as indicated in the diagrams. Ensure they are firmly attached for safety.
  7. Connect Bunks: Carefully lift the assembled upper bunk and align it with the lower bunk frame. Securely attach the upper bunk to the lower bunk using the designated connection points and hardware. This step may require two people.
  8. Final Tightening: Once all components are in place and aligned, use the provided Allen wrench to fully tighten all bolts and fasteners. Do not overtighten.
  9. Placement: Position the assembled bunk bed against a wall, ensuring there is adequate space around it and that it is stable on a level floor.

Operating and Usage

  • Mattress Requirements: Ensure mattresses used comply with the recommended dimensions for twin (upper) and full (lower) beds. The maximum mattress thickness for the upper bunk should not exceed 6 inches to maintain adequate guard rail height.
  • Weight Capacity: The upper bunk is designed to support a maximum weight of 175 lbs (including mattress). The lower bunk is designed to support a maximum weight of 350 lbs (including mattress). Do not exceed these limits.
  • Ladder Use: Always use the built-in ladders for safe access to and from the upper bunk. Ensure the ladder is free from obstructions.
  • Guard Rails: The full-length guard rails on the upper bunk are crucial for safety. Do not remove or modify them.
  • General Use: Discourage rough play on or around the bunk bed. Do not jump on the bed.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the metal frame with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the finish.
  • Fastener Checks: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) check all bolts and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary, but do not overtighten.
  • Structural Integrity: Inspect the bed frame for any signs of damage, bending, or cracks. If any damage is found, discontinue use immediately and contact customer support.
  • Mattress Care: Follow the care instructions provided by your mattress manufacturer.
