Setup
1. Initial Charging
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, it requires a full charge. Expose the watch face to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. A full charge can take approximately 11 hours in direct sunlight or 40 hours under a fluorescent lamp. The watch will not function properly until it has received sufficient charge.
2. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to position 2. The small second hand (at 6 o'clock) will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the 24-hour hand (at 3 o'clock) is also correctly aligned with the current time (e.g., 3 PM should show 15 on the 24-hour sub-dial).
- Push the crown back into position 0 to start the watch.
3. Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to position 1.
- Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date. Do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may interfere with the date change mechanism.
- Push the crown back into position 0.
Operating Instructions
Using the Chronograph
The chronograph measures elapsed time in 1-second increments up to 60 minutes. The large central second hand is dedicated to the chronograph function, while the small sub-dial at 6 o'clock indicates the regular seconds.
- Start: Press pusher A to start the chronograph. The large central second hand will begin to move.
- Stop: Press pusher A again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the central second hand and the chronograph minute hand (at 9 o'clock).
- Reset: After stopping, press pusher B to reset the chronograph. Both the central second hand and the chronograph minute hand will return to their 0 positions.
- Split Time: To measure split times, press pusher B while the chronograph is running. The hands will stop to indicate the split time. Press pusher B again to resume timing.

Maintenance
Charging Guidelines
To maintain optimal performance, ensure your Eco-Drive watch is regularly exposed to light. Avoid prolonged storage in dark places. If the watch stops, it indicates insufficient charge and requires exposure to light. The power reserve can last for several months on a full charge, even in darkness.
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For stainless steel bracelets, a soft brush with mild soapy water can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 BAR). This rating means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Always ensure the crown is pushed in completely before exposing the watch to water.

Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped: This indicates insufficient charge. Expose the watch to a bright light source for an extended period until it resumes normal operation.
- Time or Date is incorrect: Refer to the 'Setting the Time' and 'Setting the Date' sections in this manual to re-adjust.
- Chronograph hands do not reset to zero: If the chronograph hands do not return to the 12 o'clock position when reset, they may need calibration. Consult a Citizen service center for assistance.
- Watch runs intermittently: This is typically a sign of low charge. Ensure the watch receives adequate light exposure.
