4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to attach the casters to your BEKANT office furniture:

  1. Prepare the Furniture: Carefully turn the BEKANT furniture item upside down or tilt it to access the leg attachment points. Ensure the furniture is stable and supported to prevent tipping.
  2. Locate Attachment Points: Identify the threaded holes at the bottom of each leg designed for caster installation.
  3. Attach Casters: Insert the threaded shaft of each caster into the corresponding hole on the furniture leg.
  4. Tighten Securely: Use the provided assembly wrench to tighten each caster firmly. Ensure they are snug but do not overtighten, as this could damage the threads.
  5. Verify Stability: Once all casters are installed, carefully return the furniture to its upright position. Gently push and pull the furniture to ensure all casters are securely attached and the furniture is stable.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, your BEKANT furniture with casters can be easily moved. To move the furniture, gently push or pull it in the desired direction. Ensure the path is clear of obstacles to prevent damage to the casters or flooring. These casters are designed for smooth rolling on various floor surfaces.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the casters with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the casters for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure the wheels spin freely.
  • Lubrication: If the casters become stiff or noisy, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the axle points, avoiding the wheel tread.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Casters not rolling smoothly:
    • Check for debris (hair, lint) wrapped around the axle. Clean as necessary.
    • Ensure the caster is not damaged.
    • Verify the floor surface is clean and even.
  • Casters feel loose:
    • Re-tighten the caster using the assembly wrench.
    • If threads are stripped, the caster or furniture leg may need replacement.
