The Westinghouse WGen3600cv is a gasoline-powered portable generator designed to provide reliable power for various applications, including RVs, home backup during outages, and job sites. It features 3600 running watts and 4650 peak watts, powered by a 212cc 4-stroke OHV Westinghouse Engine. Key safety features include a CO Sensor for automatic shutdown and automatic low oil shutdown.
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. ALWAYS use generators outdoors, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- Read and understand all instructions in this manual before operating the generator.
- Ensure the generator is placed on a level surface, outdoors, and at least 20 feet (6 meters) away from any building openings.
- Never operate the generator in an enclosed or partially enclosed area.
- Keep children and pets away from the generator during operation.
- Always turn off the generator and allow it to cool before refueling.
- Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline.
- Do not operate the generator in rain or wet conditions.
- Ensure proper grounding of the generator.
- The integrated CO Sensor will automatically shut down the generator if carbon monoxide levels become unsafe. Do not disable this feature.

Setup and Initial Preparation
Unpacking and Assembly
Your generator comes with minimal assembly required. Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the unit for any damage. The package includes essential accessories to get you started.

Adding Engine Oil
The engine is shipped without oil. You must add the correct amount of engine oil before starting the generator. Refer to the 'Specifications' section for the recommended oil type and capacity.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Using the provided funnel, slowly pour the recommended engine oil into the oil fill opening until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.

Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 fuel.
- Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
- Unscrew the fuel cap located on top of the fuel tank.
- Slowly add gasoline, being careful not to overfill. Leave some space for fuel expansion.
- Securely replace the fuel cap.

Operating Instructions
Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level outdoor surface, away from any structures.
- Check oil and fuel levels.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (if the engine is cold).
- Flip the engine switch to the "RUN" position.
- Firmly pull the recoil start handle until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
Connecting Electrical Devices
The WGen3600cv features various outlets for different power needs:
- Two 5-20R 120V Household Duplex Receptacles (20 Amp)
- One RV-Ready TT-30R 30 Amp Receptacle (120V)
- One L5-30R 30 Amp Receptacle (120V)

Connect your devices to the appropriate outlets. Do not overload the generator. All outlets are equipped with rubber covers for added protection.

Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Flip the engine switch to the "STOP" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your generator. Always refer to the maintenance schedule in the full owner's manual for detailed intervals.
Routine Checks
- Before Each Use: Check engine oil level, fuel level, and inspect for any loose parts or damage.
- Every 25 Hours or Annually: Change engine oil.
- Every 50 Hours or Annually: Clean/replace air filter, check spark plug.
- Every 100 Hours or Annually: Inspect fuel filter, clean spark arrestor.
Storage
For long-term storage (more than 30 days), proper preparation is necessary:
- Drain the fuel tank and carburetor.
- Add fuel stabilizer to fresh fuel if not draining completely.
- Change the engine oil.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder, then pull the recoil a few times to distribute. Reinstall the spark plug.
- Clean the exterior of the generator.
- Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
Troubleshooting
