5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

The XTAR X4 charger offers two methods for power input:

  1. AC Power Adapter: Connect the provided AC power adapter to the AC input port on the back of the charger, then plug it into a standard wall outlet. This is suitable for indoor use.
  2. Micro USB Cable: Connect a Micro USB cable to the Micro USB input port on the back of the charger, and connect the other end to a 5V/2.1A USB power source (e.g., a wall adapter, computer USB port, or power bank). This option is convenient for outdoor or portable charging.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Charging Batteries

  1. Connect Power: Ensure the charger is connected to a power source using either the AC adapter or Micro USB cable as described in Section 5.1.
  2. Insert Batteries: Carefully insert one or more rechargeable batteries into the charging bays, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) indicated on the charger. The charger will automatically detect the battery type and select an appropriate charging current.
  3. Monitor Charging: The intelligent LCD screen will display real-time charging information for each bay, including battery power percentage, voltage, current, and accumulated charging capacity (mAh).
  4. Charging Completion: The charger will automatically stop charging when the batteries are full. The LCD screen will indicate "Full" for the respective bay.

6.2 USB Output Function (Power Bank Mode)

The XTAR X4 can function as a power bank to charge external devices when powered by AC or Micro USB, provided there are charged Li-ion batteries in the bays.

  1. Ensure Batteries are Present: For the USB output function to work, at least one charged Li-ion battery must be present in the charging bays.
  2. Connect External Device: Connect your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) to the USB Output port on the back of the charger using a compatible USB cable.
  3. Charging Begins: The charger will begin supplying 5V/1A power to your device. The LCD screen may indicate USB output activity.
