Key components typically include:

  • Feed Opening: Where laminating pouches are inserted.
  • Control Panel: Includes power switch and settings for micron thickness.
  • Ready Light/Beep: Indicates when the laminator has reached operating temperature.
  • Exit Slot: Where laminated documents emerge.
  • Power Cord Inlet: For connecting the power cable.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the laminator from its packaging. Retain packaging for storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the laminator on a stable, flat surface with adequate space around it for air circulation and for documents to pass through.
  3. Power Connection: Insert the power cord into the laminator's power inlet and then into a suitable grounded electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Warm-up

  1. Turn on the laminator using the power switch.
  2. Select the desired laminating thickness (80 micron or 125 micron) using the control buttons.
  3. Allow the laminator to warm up. The warm-up time is approximately 5-8 minutes. The "ready" light will illuminate and a beep will sound when the laminator is ready for use.

5.2 Hot Lamination

Hot lamination is suitable for most standard documents, providing durable protection.

  1. Ensure the laminator is warmed up and the correct micron setting is selected (80 or 125 micron).
  2. Place your document centrally inside a laminating pouch, ensuring even margins.
  3. Insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch squarely into the feed opening. Do not force the pouch.
  4. The laminator will automatically feed the pouch through. Support the laminated document as it exits the rear slot to prevent bending.
  5. Allow the laminated document to cool on a flat surface for a few moments before handling.

5.3 Cold Lamination

Cold lamination is ideal for heat-sensitive materials or documents that may be damaged by heat.

  1. Ensure the laminator is set to the "cold" setting, if available, or simply use cold laminating pouches without heating the machine. For this model, cold laminating is possible.
  2. Place your document inside a self-adhesive cold laminating pouch.
  3. Insert the sealed edge of the cold laminating pouch into the feed opening.
  4. The laminator will feed the pouch through, applying pressure to seal it.

Note: This laminator does not require a carrier for laminating pouches.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Ensure the laminator is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Roller Cleaning: Periodically run a cleaning sheet (available separately) through the laminator to remove adhesive residue from the rollers.
  • Storage: Store the laminator in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
