5. Setup and Installation
The GIM KB-14 Pro light strip features magnetic adsorption for easy installation within your PC case. Ensure your PC is powered off and unplugged before beginning installation.
5.1 Magnetic Installation
Position the light strip inside your PC case. The magnets on both sides of the strip will adhere to any ferrous metal surface, allowing for flexible placement. Common placements include along the top, bottom, or side panels of the case.

5.2 Connection Methods
The GIM KB-14 Pro offers three primary ways to connect and power the light strip:
- Connect to Lighting Controller: Connect the 3-pin cable from the light strip to the included mini lighting controller. Then, connect the lighting controller's SATA header to a SATA power connector from your Power Supply Unit (PSU).
- Connect to GIM Hub: Connect the 4-pin cable from the light strip to a 6-pin fan port (2-5Pin) on a compatible GIM Hub (sold separately).
- Connect to Motherboard: If your motherboard has a 5V ARGB 3-pin header, connect the 3-pin cable from the light strip directly to this header. Ensure it is a 5V ARGB header and not a 12V RGB header.

6. Operating Instructions
Once installed and connected, you can adjust the lighting effects of your GIM KB-14 Pro light strip using one of the following methods, depending on your connection choice:
6.1 Adjusting Color and Speed
- Using the Lighting Controller: If connected to the mini lighting controller, use the buttons on the controller:
- Press "M" to cycle through different lighting modes.
- Press "S" to adjust the light speed of the current mode.
- Press "C" to adjust colors within certain modes.
- Using a GIM Hub: If connected to a GIM Hub, use the fan controller provided with the GIM Hub to adjust the light strip's speed and color. Refer to your GIM Hub's manual for specific instructions.
- Using Motherboard Software: If connected directly to a 5V ARGB 3-pin header on your motherboard, you can adjust the color and speed through your computer's motherboard RGB software (e.g., Asus Aura Sync, Asrock RGB Led, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light).
The light strip supports Addressable RGB (ARGB) SYNC, providing a wide range of color combinations and dynamic lighting effects compatible with major motherboard RGB ecosystems.

7. Maintenance
The GIM KB-14 Pro Magnetic RGB Light Strip requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: To clean the light strip, ensure your PC is powered off and unplugged. Gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Inspection: Periodically check the connections to ensure they are secure.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light strip does not light up. | No power, incorrect connection, or faulty component. | Check all power connections (SATA, GIM Hub, or motherboard header). Ensure the 3-pin ARGB connector is fully seated. Verify the power supply is on. |
| Colors are incorrect or flickering. | Incorrect ARGB header connection or software conflict. | Ensure the light strip is connected to a 5V ARGB 3-pin header, not a 12V RGB header. If using motherboard software, ensure it is up-to-date and properly configured. Try restarting the PC. |
| Light strip not responding to controller/software. | Loose connection or software issue. | Verify the connection to the controller, GIM Hub, or motherboard. If using software, close and reopen the application, or reinstall it if necessary. |
