  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN 12V port on the receiver, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. USB Storage (Optional): For PVR and Timeshift functions, connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive (formatted to FAT32 or NTFS) to the USB port on the front panel.

6.2 Initial Setup Wizard

Upon first power-on, the receiver will typically launch an initial setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure language, country, and perform an automatic channel scan.

6.3 Channel Scanning (AUTOSCAN & LCN)

  • AUTOSCAN: The receiver features an AUTOSCAN function that automatically scans for available channels. This can be initiated during the initial setup or manually via the menu.
  • LCN (Logical Channel Number): Once channels are found, the LCN function automatically organizes them into a logical order, making navigation easier.
  • Automatic Updates: The AUTOSCAN function can also scan for new channels while the decoder is in standby mode and automatically update the channel list.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Basic TV Viewing

  • Power On/Off: Press the POWER button on the remote or front panel.
  • Change Channels: Use the CH +/- buttons or enter the channel number directly using the numeric keypad.
  • Adjust Volume: Use the VOL +/- buttons.
  • EPG (Electronic Program Guide): Press the EPG button to view program schedules.

7.2 PVR (Personal Video Recorder) Functionality

The TS6822's dual tuner allows for advanced recording capabilities.

  • USB Storage Preparation: Ensure your USB drive is connected and formatted to FAT32 or NTFS. The receiver may require specific partitioning for PVR functions; if recordings stop prematurely, check the PVR setup in the menu to ensure the correct partition is selected for recording.
  • Instant Recording: While watching a program, press the REC button to start recording immediately. Press STOP to end.
  • Scheduled Recording (Timer):
    1. Press the TIMER button or navigate to the Timer menu via MENU > Settings > Timer.
    2. Set the start time, end time, and frequency (once, daily, weekly).
    3. You can also schedule recordings directly from the EPG.
    4. Note: Ensure the auto-shutdown timer in the system settings is set to "Off" or a duration longer than your recording, as it can interrupt recordings.
  • Twin Tuner Advantage: With the dual tuner, you can record one channel while watching another, or record two channels simultaneously (if they are on different frequencies). You can also watch a previously recorded program while a new recording is in progress.
  • Timeshift: Press the PAUSE button during live TV to activate Timeshift. The program will pause and begin recording. Press PLAY to resume from where you left off. You can fast forward or rewind within the buffered content.
  • Accessing Recordings: Press the PVR button to view your list of recorded programs.

7.3 Media Player

Connect a USB storage device containing media files to the USB port.

  • Press the USB button on the remote or navigate to the Media Player via the main menu.
  • Select the type of media (Music, Photo, Video) you wish to play.
  • Browse your files and press OK to play.
  • Supported formats include Mpeg4 H.265 for video.

7.4 OSD Menu Navigation

Press the MENU button to access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Use the arrow keys to navigate and OK to select. EXIT returns to the previous screen or live TV.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check the TELE System official website for firmware updates. Download the update file to a USB drive and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for installation.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Ensure HDMI cable is securely connected.
  • Check TV input source.
  • Important: HDMI output may be deactivated by default. Connect via SCART first, navigate to the system settings menu, and activate HDMI output. Then reconnect via HDMI.
Recordings stop prematurely.
  • Check the system's auto-shutdown timer setting. Ensure it is set to "Off" or a duration longer than your recording.
  • Verify the USB drive is correctly formatted (FAT32 or NTFS) and that the PVR function is configured to use the main storage partition. The receiver might create multiple partitions; ensure the largest one is selected for recordings.
  • Ensure sufficient free space on the USB storage device.
Cannot record or Timeshift.
  • Ensure a compatible USB storage device is connected and properly recognized.
  • Check USB drive formatting and PVR settings as described above.
Remote control not working.
  • Check and replace batteries.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver's IR sensor.
Slow startup.This is a common characteristic for some external decoders and is generally not an indication of a fault.
