The Lexibook Luminous Globe Planetarium is a versatile 2-in-1 educational tool designed to explore both the Earth's geography and the wonders of the night sky. During the day, it functions as a detailed geographic globe, displaying continents, countries, oceans, and seas. When illuminated, it transforms into a planetarium, revealing a comprehensive map of constellations. This globe is powered via a USB connection and features a sturdy metal base, making it both practical and decorative for any learning environment.

Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove the globe sphere, metal base, and USB power cable from the packaging.
  2. Assemble the Globe: Place the globe sphere onto the metal base, ensuring it is securely seated and can rotate freely. The globe is designed to sit at a correct angle for Earth's tilt.
  3. Connect Power: Insert the small end of the USB power cable into the designated port at the bottom of the globe's base. Plug the larger USB end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port on a computer.
  4. Position the Globe: Place the assembled globe on a stable, flat surface.

Operating Instructions

Day Mode (Geographic Globe)

In its unilluminated state, the globe serves as a detailed geographic map. Rotate the globe to explore continents, countries, major cities, oceans, and seas. The clear labeling and distinct colors for different regions facilitate easy learning and identification.

Night Mode (Constellation Map)

To activate the constellation map, locate the on/off switch on the USB power cable. Flip the switch to the "ON" position. The globe will illuminate, revealing 88 constellations with their names and outlines. This mode is best viewed in a dimly lit or dark room for optimal visibility.
