Operating Instructions

1. Filling the Growler

Unscrew the tap system and fill the growler with your desired carbonated beverage. Leave about an inch of headspace to allow for proper carbonation and pressure. Re-attach the tap system firmly.

2. Adjusting CO2 Pressure

The CO2 regulator allows you to adjust the pressure between 0 to 30 psi. Turn the knob on the regulator to increase or decrease the pressure as needed for your beverage. For optimal carbonation, refer to specific beverage guidelines.

Maintenance and Cleaning

1. Disassembly for Cleaning

After each use, disassemble the tap system by unscrewing it from the growler. Remove the CO2 cartridge and separate all components of the tap system, including the dip tube.

2. Cleaning Instructions

  • Hand wash all components with warm, soapy water. Use a brush for the dip tube and tap nozzle to ensure thorough cleaning.
  • Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water.
  • Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembly or storage to prevent mold or mildew.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers, as they may damage the finish.

3. Storage

Store the growler and its components in a clean, dry place. Ensure the growler is completely dry inside to prevent odors or bacterial growth.

Troubleshooting

1. Leaking Tap or Lid

  • Check Gaskets: Ensure all anti-leak rings (gaskets) are properly seated and not damaged. Replace if necessary.
  • Tighten Connections: Make sure the tap system is screwed onto the growler firmly. Also, check the CO2 regulator connection.

2. Flat Beverage / Insufficient Carbonation

  • CO2 Cartridge: Verify that a fresh CO2 cartridge is installed and properly pierced. Replace if empty.
  • Pressure Setting: Ensure the CO2 regulator is set to the appropriate pressure for your beverage (e.g., 2-3 PSI for beer, up to 30 PSI for seltzer).
  • Temperature: Colder beverages absorb CO2 better. Ensure your beverage is adequately chilled.

3. Difficulty Dispensing

  • Check Dip Tube: Ensure the dip tube is not clogged or bent.
  • Pressure: Increase the CO2 pressure slightly if the flow is too slow.
