4. Setup

4.1 Installation

The Fagor LVF13AXS is a freestanding dishwasher. For proper installation, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician. Ensure the appliance is level, securely connected to the water supply (inlet and outlet), and properly plugged into a grounded electrical outlet. Refer to the detailed installation diagrams in the separate installation guide for specific requirements.

4.2 Initial Use

  1. Salt Dispenser: Fill the salt dispenser with dishwasher salt. This helps soften hard water and prevents limescale buildup. The salt indicator light will turn off once filled.
  2. Rinse Aid Dispenser: Fill the rinse aid dispenser. Rinse aid helps with drying and prevents water spots. The rinse aid indicator light will turn off once filled.
  3. First Wash Cycle: Run an empty wash cycle with detergent to clean the interior of the dishwasher before loading dishes.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Loading the Dishwasher

  • Scrape off large food particles from dishes.
  • Place larger items in the lower basket and smaller, more delicate items (like glasses and cups) in the upper basket.
  • Ensure dishes do not block the spray arms.
  • Place cutlery in the cutlery basket with handles down for forks and spoons, and handles up for knives to ensure safety.

5.2 Adding Detergent, Rinse Aid, and Salt

  • Detergent: Add the appropriate amount of dishwasher detergent to the dispenser. Refer to the detergent manufacturer's instructions.
  • Rinse Aid: Check the rinse aid indicator. Refill if necessary.
  • Salt: Check the salt indicator. Refill if necessary.

5.3 Selecting a Wash Program

The dishwasher offers 8 wash programs and 5 temperature settings. Select the program best suited for your load using the program selection buttons on the control panel. The LED display will show the selected program and estimated remaining time.

5.4 Special Functions

  • Delay Start: Press the delay start button to postpone the start of the wash cycle by up to 24 hours.
  • Half Load Option: Use this option for smaller loads to save water and energy. You can choose to wash items in the lower basket, upper basket, or both baskets with reduced resources.
  • Child Safety Lock: Activate the child safety lock to prevent accidental program changes or opening of the door during operation. Refer to the control panel instructions for activation.

5.5 Starting and Ending a Cycle

Close the dishwasher door firmly. Press the Start button to begin the selected program. The washing cycle indicators will show the current stage of the wash. Once the cycle is complete, the dishwasher will signal, and the display will indicate completion. Wait a few minutes before opening the door to allow steam to dissipate and dishes to cool.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dishwasher.

6.1 Cleaning Filters

The filter system should be cleaned regularly (e.g., once a week) to prevent food particles from clogging the system and affecting wash performance.

  1. Turn off and unplug the dishwasher.
  2. Remove the lower basket.
  3. Twist and lift out the coarse filter, then separate the fine filter.
  4. Rinse all filter components under running water to remove any debris.
  5. Reassemble the filters and place them back into the dishwasher, ensuring they are securely locked in place.

6.2 Cleaning Spray Arms

Periodically check the spray arm nozzles for blockages. If necessary, remove the spray arms and clean the holes with a thin object like a toothpick.

6.3 Exterior and Interior Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the dishwasher with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Clean the door seal regularly to remove food residue.
