5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective meat grinding.
5.1 Preparing Meat for Grinding
- Ensure meat is chilled but not frozen.
- Cut meat into small pieces (approximately 1-inch cubes) that will easily fit into the hopper opening.
- Remove any bones, gristle, or tough tendons to prevent damage to the grinder.
5.2 Grinding Meat
- Ensure the grinder is correctly assembled and plugged into a suitable power outlet.
- Place a bowl or container under the grinding head to collect the ground meat.
- Turn the control switch to the 'ON' position.
- Place prepared meat pieces into the hopper.
- Use the meat pusher to gently guide the meat down into the grinding head. Do not force the meat or use your hands.
- Continue feeding meat until all is ground.
- Once finished, turn the control switch to the 'OFF' position and unplug the appliance.

5.3 Using the Reverse Function
If the grinder becomes clogged or meat gets stuck, use the reverse function:
- Turn the control switch to the 'REV' (Reverse) position. This will rotate the auger in the opposite direction to clear the blockage.
- Once the blockage is cleared, switch back to 'OFF', then to 'ON' to resume grinding.
- If the reverse function does not clear the clog, turn off and unplug the unit, then disassemble and clean the grinding head.
5.4 Using Sausage and Kebbe Attachments
To use these attachments, first grind your meat to the desired consistency. Then, replace the grinding plate and cutting blade with the appropriate attachment.
- Sausage Funnel: Attach the sausage funnel in place of the grinding plate and blade. Feed the prepared ground meat mixture into the hopper, and guide sausage casings onto the funnel. The grinder will push the meat into the casing.
- Kebbe Attachment: Attach the kebbe attachment in place of the grinding plate and blade. Feed the prepared kebbe mixture into the hopper. The attachment will form hollow tubes for filling.
