3. Setup

The BTU Desktop Power Outlet offers flexible installation options to suit your needs.

3.1 Desktop Placement

Simply place the power strip on any flat surface such as a desk, nightstand, or workbench. Ensure the surface is stable and dry.

3.2 Wall Mounting

For a more permanent and space-saving solution, the power strip can be mounted using its four pre-drilled holes.

  1. Choose Location: Select a dry, indoor location near an existing power outlet, ensuring the 6.56ft cord can reach.
  2. Mark Holes: Hold the power strip against the desired mounting surface and mark the positions of the four mounting holes with a pencil.
  3. Drill Pilot Holes (if necessary): Depending on the surface material, you may need to drill small pilot holes at the marked positions.
  4. Secure: Use appropriate screws (not included) to secure the power strip to the surface through the mounting holes. Ensure it is firmly attached.

4. Operating Instructions

Using your BTU Desktop Power Outlet is straightforward.

  1. Plug In: Insert the power strip's flat plug into a standard 125V AC wall outlet.
  2. Connect AC Devices: Plug your electronic devices (e.g., laptops, lamps, small appliances) into the 2 AC outlets. Ensure the total power consumption does not exceed 12A.
  3. Charge USB Devices: Connect your USB-powered devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, smartwatches) to the 2 USB-A ports using their respective charging cables. The USB ports provide 5V at 2.1A.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your power strip.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power strip from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the power strip in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and the unit for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires, cracks, or discoloration. If damage is found, discontinue use immediately.
  • Overload Prevention: Do not overload the power strip beyond its rated capacity (12A). This can cause overheating and potential damage to the unit or connected devices.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BTU Desktop Power Outlet, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
