Setup and First Use
Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the coffee maker. Keep packaging for future storage or disposal.
Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean all removable parts (carafe, permanent filter, filter basket) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): To clean the internal components, fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the "6 cups" mark. Place the empty permanent filter and filter basket into position. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate. Plug the coffee maker into a 127V electrical outlet and turn on the power switch. Allow the full cycle to complete. Discard the water from the carafe. Repeat this process 2-3 times with fresh water to ensure thorough cleaning.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to brew delicious coffee with your TAURUS COFFEE MAX 6 RIBBON:
Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Use the water level indicator on the side to measure the desired number of cups (up to 6 cups / 800 ml). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
Add Coffee Grounds: Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the permanent filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup, but adjust to your taste. Ensure the filter basket is properly seated.

Position Carafe: Place the empty glass carafe securely on the warming plate. Ensure it is centered to activate the anti-drip valve.
Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into a 127V electrical outlet. Press the power switch to the "ON" position. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the brewing process has started.
Anti-Drip Feature: The anti-drip system allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will stop automatically. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket.

Keep Warm Function: Once brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot. The power switch indicator light will remain on. For best taste, consume coffee shortly after brewing. The appliance does not have an automatic shut-off feature, so remember to turn it off manually.
Turn Off: After use, press the power switch to the "OFF" position and unplug the coffee maker from the outlet.

Care and Maintenance
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. These parts are not dishwasher safe. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
Descaling:
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly, depending on the hardness of your water and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-4 weeks).
Prepare a descaling solution: Mix white vinegar and water in a 1:2 ratio (e.g., 1 cup vinegar to 2 cups water). Fill the water reservoir with this solution up to the 6-cup mark.
Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
Turn on the coffee maker and allow half of the solution to brew through. Turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for at least 15 minutes to allow the solution to work.
Turn the coffee maker back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
Discard the descaling solution from the carafe. Rinse the carafe and permanent filter thoroughly.
Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution and odor. Discard the water after each cycle.
