4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Grim Reaper decoration:
- Assemble the Metal Rods: Carefully splice the metal rod segments together to form the vertical support pole.
- Assemble the Plastic Base: Splice the pieces of the plastic bottom base together to form a stable cross-shaped stand.
- Connect Rod to Base: Insert the assembled metal rod into the central opening of the plastic base. Ensure it is firmly seated and stable.
- Install Batteries: Locate the battery compartment on the back of the Grim Reaper figure (typically near the head or upper body). Open the compartment and insert 3 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
- Attach Grim Reaper to Stand: Carefully place the Grim Reaper figure onto the top of the assembled support bracket. The internal stand mechanism allows for adjustment. Ensure the figure is securely attached and balanced on the stand.

5. Operating Instructions
The JOYIN Grim Reaper features sound activation and motion sensing capabilities:
- Power On: Once batteries are installed, the unit is ready for operation. There is typically an ON/OFF switch located near the battery compartment. Set it to 'ON'.
- Motion Sensor: The motion sensor has an effective range of approximately 1.64 feet (0.5 meters). When motion is detected within this range, the Grim Reaper's eyes will light up, it will emit scary noises, and begin vibrating.
- Light Sensitivity: The sensitivity of the motion sensor can be affected by ambient light conditions. In very bright light, its sensitivity may decrease. For optimal performance, consider placement in areas with moderate to low light.
- Placement: Position the Grim Reaper in an area where its motion sensor can effectively detect approaching individuals for maximum effect.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity of your Grim Reaper decoration, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the surface of the Grim Reaper with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish.
- Battery Replacement: If the lights dim, sounds become distorted, or the vibration weakens, it is time to replace the batteries. Always replace all 3 AA batteries at the same time.
- Storage: When not in use, store the Grim Reaper in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. It is recommended to remove the batteries before long-term storage to prevent leakage.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Grim Reaper, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
