5. Setup
5.1 Powering On
The Grundig MUSIC6500B can be powered by an AC adapter or batteries.
- AC Power: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN port on the radio and then to a wall outlet.
- Battery Power: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio. Insert the required number of AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
5.2 Antenna Adjustment
For optimal radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.
5.3 Initial Scan (DAB+ and FM)
- Press the Power button to turn on the radio.
- If this is the first time using the radio or after a factory reset, it will automatically perform a full scan for DAB+ stations. This may take a few minutes.
- Once the scan is complete, the radio will tune to the first available DAB+ station.
- To perform an FM scan, switch to FM mode using the Mode (M) button. Then, long-press the Select/Enter button to initiate an auto-scan for FM stations.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 DAB+ Radio Mode
- Press the Mode (M) button until "DAB" appears on the display.
- Use the Up/Down navigation buttons to browse through the available DAB+ stations.
- Press the Select/Enter button to confirm your station choice.
- To perform a new scan, long-press the Select/Enter button.
6.2 FM Radio Mode
- Press the Mode (M) button until "FM" appears on the display.
- Auto-Tune: Long-press the Up/Down navigation buttons to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Manual Tune: Short-press the Up/Down navigation buttons to fine-tune the frequency step-by-step.
- The radio supports FM RDS, displaying station information where available.
6.3 Bluetooth Mode
Stream audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
- Press the Mode (M) button until "Bluetooth" appears on the display. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon.
- On your external device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "Grundig MUSIC6500B" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the radio's display will stop flashing, and you can begin playing audio from your device.
- The Bluetooth range is up to 30 meters (open field).
6.4 Volume Control
Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons to adjust the listening volume.
6.5 Presets (Saving and Recalling Stations)
The radio supports 30 FM and 30 DAB+ station presets.
- To Save a Preset:
- Tune to the desired DAB+ or FM station.

- Press Select/Enter to save the station.
- To Recall a Preset:
- Short-press the Preset button.
