Setup and Installation

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the S-9 unit. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the headset and to a standard USB power adapter (not included). The indicator light will show charging status. A full charge typically takes about 2 hours.

2. Helmet Installation

The S-9 headset can be mounted to your helmet using either the clip mount or the adhesive mount.

  1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a flat area on the left side of your helmet where the unit will not obstruct your vision or movement.
  2. Install Mount:
    • Clip Mount: Slide the clip between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Ensure it is securely fastened.
    • Adhesive Mount: Clean the chosen area on the helmet surface. Peel off the backing from the adhesive mount and firmly press it onto the helmet for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure before attaching the unit.
  3. Attach Headset Unit: Slide the S-9 main unit onto the installed mount until it clicks into place.
  4. Speaker Placement: Remove the helmet's inner padding. Attach the speakers to the ear pockets using the provided Velcro magic stickers. Ensure speakers are centered over your ears for optimal sound.
  5. Microphone Placement: Choose either the boom microphone (for open-face helmets) or the soft wire microphone (for full-face helmets). Position the microphone approximately 1-2 cm from your mouth. Route the microphone and speaker wires neatly under the helmet padding to avoid interference and discomfort.

  1. Ensure the S-9 unit is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for approximately 5-7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  4. Select "SCSETC S-9" from the list of available devices.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light on the S-9 will flash blue slowly.

3. Intercom Pairing (Rider-to-Rider)

The S-9 supports communication between multiple riders.

  1. Ensure both S-9 units are powered on and not connected to any other devices.
  2. On one unit, press and hold the Intercom button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue rapidly.
  3. On the second unit, press and hold the Intercom button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue rapidly.
  4. The units will automatically search and pair with each other. Once connected, the indicator lights will flash blue slowly.
  5. To add more riders (up to 6), repeat the pairing process with each additional unit, initiating pairing from the last connected unit.
  6. If a group connection is lost for less than 5 minutes, it can be seamlessly rejoined. For disconnections longer than 5 minutes, press the Intercom button once to rejoin the group.
