3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your portable air conditioner and heater. This unit is designed for use with double hung or sliding windows only.
3.1 Unit Placement
- Place the unit on a firm, level floor that can support its weight (approximately 66.6 lbs).
- Ensure there is at least 20 inches of space around the unit for proper air circulation.
- Position the unit near a window for exhaust hose installation and a grounded electrical outlet.
- For optimal cooling/heating, ensure all windows and doors in the room are closed.
3.2 Window Kit Installation
The included window kit is essential for exhausting hot air (or cold air during heating) outside.

Figure 3.1: Components of the window kit, including the exhaust hose, slider bracket, and accessories.
The window kit includes a foam seal, slider bracket, 5.9-inch diameter air exhaust hose, hose inlet and outlet adapters, and two locking screws. The slider bracket is adjustable to fit windows from 20.5 inches to 50 inches in width/height.
- Assemble the exhaust hose by attaching the hose inlet and outlet adapters to each end.
- Adjust the slider bracket to fit your window opening and secure it in place.
- Connect one end of the exhaust hose to the unit's exhaust port and the other end to the window kit adapter. Ensure connections are secure to prevent air leakage.
- Use the foam seal to seal any gaps around the window kit to maximize efficiency.
3.3 Power Connection
Plug the 3-prong grounded LCDI/Type B power cord (70.8 inches long) into a standard 115V~/60Hz electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
4. Operating Instructions
Your portable air conditioner and heater can be operated using the top-mounted control panel or the remote control.
4.1 Control Panel and Remote Control
The unit features an LED display and touch controls on its top surface. The remote control duplicates most of these functions for convenience.
4.2 Operating Modes
- Cool Mode: Select this mode for cooling. The temperature can be set between 61°F and 88°F. The unit will cool the air and exhaust hot air outside.
- Heat Mode: Select this mode for heating. The temperature can be set up to 88°F. The unit will provide warm air.
- Fan Mode: In this mode, the unit circulates air without cooling or heating. Ideal for general air circulation.
- Dehumidify Mode: This mode removes excess moisture from the air, collecting up to 90 pints per 24 hours. The unit will operate as a dehumidifier.
4.3 Fan Speed Adjustment
The unit offers three fan speed settings: High (202 CFM), Medium (178 CFM), and Low (166 CFM). Adjust the fan speed to your comfort level. The unit also features an auto air swing function for even air distribution.
4.4 Timer Function

4.5 Sleep Mode
Activate Sleep Mode for quieter operation during rest periods. In this mode, the unit operates at a lower fan speed and adjusts temperature gradually for comfortable sleeping conditions.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your unit. Always unplug the unit before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Air Filter Cleaning
The reusable air filter should be cleaned regularly, ideally twice a month, or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
- Slide out the air filter from its designated slot.
- Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water to remove dust and debris.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.
5.2 Condensation Drainage
While the unit features a bucket-less, self-evaporating operation, in high humidity conditions, excess condensation may accumulate and require manual drainage. The unit has a drain hose connection for continuous drainage.
- Locate the drain plug at the rear or bottom of the unit.
- Place a suitable container (e.g., a shallow pan or bucket) beneath the drain plug.
- Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
- For continuous drainage, attach a drain hose (not always included, may need to be purchased separately) to the drain outlet and direct it to a floor drain or larger container.
- Ensure the drain hose is properly secured to prevent leaks.
5.3 Unit Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Before long-term storage, ensure the unit is completely drained of water.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably covered to protect it from dust.
6. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your unit, refer to the following common problems and solutions before contacting customer support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | No power supply; power cord not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped. | Ensure unit is plugged into a working outlet. Check circuit breaker. |
| Unit is not cooling/heating effectively. | Windows/doors open; exhaust hose not properly installed; air filter dirty; room size too large. | Close all windows and doors. Ensure exhaust hose is sealed. Clean air filter. Verify room size is within 450 sq. ft. |
| Unit is noisy. | Unit not on a level surface; fan speed too high; normal operating noise. | Place unit on a firm, level surface. Reduce fan speed. Some noise is normal for portable AC units. |
| Water leakage. | Drain plug not secured; continuous drain hose not properly connected; internal reservoir full (if applicable). | Ensure drain plug is tightly closed. Check continuous drain hose connection. Drain the unit if necessary. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
