1. Introduction

The Victrola Journey+ Bluetooth Suitcase Record Player combines classic design with modern audio features. This portable turntable allows you to enjoy your vinyl records with enhanced sound quality through its built-in speakers or connect wirelessly to external Bluetooth speakers. It also supports streaming music from your smart devices directly to the unit.

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Victrola Journey+ record player. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

  • Power Source: Use only the specified power adapter. Ensure the voltage is compatible with your region.
  • Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or dripping/splashing liquids. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Heat: Do not place near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Cleaning: Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface to prevent damage from falls.

4. Product Features and Components

The Victrola Journey+ is designed for ease of use and portability, featuring a range of connectivity options.

4.1 Turntable Section

  • Platter: Supports the vinyl record during playback.
  • Spindle: Holds the record in place on the platter.
  • Tonearm: Holds the stylus (needle) and tracks the record grooves.
  • Stylus: The needle that reads the audio from the record.
  • 45 RPM Adapter: Used for playing 7-inch records with a large center hole.
  • Speed Selector: Allows selection of 33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM playback speeds.
  • Auto Stop Switch: Engages or disengages the auto-stop function, which stops the platter when a record finishes playing.

4.2 Control Panel

  • Power/Volume Knob: Turns the unit on/off and adjusts the volume.
  • Input Select Knob: Switches between PHONO (vinyl playback), BT IN (Bluetooth input from external device), and BT OUT (Bluetooth output to external speaker).

4.3 Connectivity

  • Built-in Stereo Speakers: Integrated speakers for direct audio playback.
  • RCA Output: Allows connection to external amplified speakers or a home stereo system.
  • Bluetooth Input: Stream audio from a Bluetooth-enabled smart device to the record player's built-in speakers.
  • Bluetooth Output (Vinyl Stream): Stream vinyl playback wirelessly to an external Bluetooth speaker.

5. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the record player from its packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibration.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC 5V 1A input jack on the back of the unit and plug it into a wall outlet.
  4. Stylus Protection: Remove the stylus protector from the needle before first use.
  5. Tonearm Clip: Release the tonearm from its rest clip.

6. Operation

6.1 Playing a Vinyl Record (PHONO Mode)

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit. The power indicator will light up.
  2. Set the Input Select knob to PHONO.
  3. Place a record on the turntable platter. If playing a 7-inch record with a large center hole, place the 45 RPM adapter on the spindle first.
  4. Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the Speed Selector switch.
  5. Lift the tonearm using the cue lever and position it over the desired track of the record.
  6. Gently lower the tonearm onto the record using the cue lever. The record will begin to play.
  7. Adjust the volume using the Power/Volume knob.
  8. At the end of the record, if the Auto Stop switch is ON, the platter will stop spinning. If it is OFF, the platter will continue to spin.
  9. To stop playback, lift the tonearm, return it to the tonearm rest, and turn the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise to turn off the unit.

6.2 Bluetooth Input (BT IN Mode)

Stream music from your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) to the record player's built-in speakers.

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit.
  2. Set the Input Select knob to BT IN. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your smart device and search for "Victrola Journey+" in the list of available devices.
  4. Select "Victrola Journey+" to pair. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
  5. You can now play music from your device through the record player's speakers. Adjust volume using the Power/Volume knob on the unit or your device.

6.3 Bluetooth Output (BT OUT Mode)

Stream your vinyl playback wirelessly to an external Bluetooth speaker.

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit.
  2. Set the Input Select knob to BT OUT. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
  3. Place your external Bluetooth speaker in pairing mode.
  4. The record player will automatically search for and connect to the nearest Bluetooth speaker. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
  5. Play a vinyl record as described in section 6.1. The audio will be streamed to your external Bluetooth speaker.

6.4 Using the Headphone Jack

For private listening, plug any standard 3.5mm headphones into the HEADPHONE jack on the front of the unit. The built-in speakers will automatically mute.

6.5 Using the RCA Output

To connect the record player to an external amplifier or stereo system, use an RCA cable (not included) to connect the RCA OUT jacks on the back of the unit to the corresponding audio input on your external system.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Stylus: Gently clean the stylus periodically with a soft brush, brushing from back to front.
  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Record Care: Keep records clean and free of dust. Store them vertically in their sleeves to prevent warping.
  • Stylus Replacement: The stylus is a consumable part and should be replaced after approximately 200-300 hours of use to maintain optimal sound quality and prevent damage to records.

8. Troubleshooting
