Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your barbecue.
- Cleaning Grill Grates: After each use, once the grates have cooled slightly but are still warm, brush off food residue with a grill brush. For stubborn residue, soak grates in warm, soapy water and scrub.
- Cleaning Burners: Periodically inspect burner ports for blockages (e.g., from food debris or insects). Use a wire brush or a stiff wire to clear any obstructions. Ensure gas holes are clear.
- Cleaning Exterior Surfaces: Wipe down stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or pads that can scratch the finish.
- Grease Tray: Regularly empty and clean the grease tray to prevent flare-ups and maintain hygiene.
- Gas Hose and Connections: Inspect the gas hose for cuts, cracks, or excessive wear before each use. Perform a leak test annually or if the barbecue has been stored for an extended period.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during off-season, store the barbecue in a dry, protected area. Consider using a weather-resistant barbecue cover to protect it from the elements. Disconnect the gas cylinder before storing.
