Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your Balboa Water Group FloThru BWG M7 Heater, Model G7415. This is a boltless stainless steel replacement heater assembly, rated at 4.0kW/230v, featuring 2 x 15-inch dimensions and including M7 sensors. It is specifically designed for use with Balboa VS and Balboa SUV M7 control systems. Please read this manual thoroughly before proceeding with installation or use.

Note: Tailpieces and gaskets are sold separately and are not included with this heater assembly.

Setup and Installation

Installation of this heater should ideally be performed by a certified spa technician. If you are performing the installation yourself, proceed with extreme caution and ensure all safety precautions are followed.

  1. Power Disconnection: Ensure the main power supply to the spa or hot tub is completely disconnected at the circuit breaker before beginning any work.
  2. Drain Spa: Drain the spa or hot tub completely to prevent water spillage during heater replacement.
  3. Locate Existing Heater: Identify the current heater assembly within your spa's equipment compartment.
  4. Disconnect Wiring: Carefully disconnect all electrical wiring from the existing heater, noting their positions for re-connection.
  5. Remove Old Heater: Disconnect the plumbing connections (tailpieces) from the old heater. Remove the old heater assembly.
  6. Prepare New Heater: Ensure the new Balboa FloThru BWG M7 heater is clean and free of debris.
  7. Install New Heater: Position the new heater assembly in place. Connect the plumbing tailpieces (sold separately) to the heater ends. Ensure a watertight seal using new gaskets (sold separately).
  8. Connect Wiring: Reconnect all electrical wiring to the new heater, ensuring correct polarity and secure connections. The M7 sensors are integrated.
  9. Tightening Nuts: When tightening nuts on the heater, use an open-end wrench to hold the stud to prevent damage to the epoxy end seal.
  10. Refill and Test: Once all connections are secure, refill the spa with water. Inspect for leaks. Restore power to the spa and test the heater's functionality according to your spa's control system instructions.
