Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

• Read all instructions before operating.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or toaster in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• To disconnect, press the Cancel button, then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
• Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
• A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
• Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
• Do not operate unattended.
• Always unplug the toaster after use.

Setup

Unpacking and Initial Placement:

• Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
• Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as curtains or walls.
• Ensure adequate ventilation around the toaster during operation.
• Unwind the power cord and plug it into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

First Use:

Before first use, it is recommended to operate the toaster without bread on the highest setting (7) for a few cycles. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate odors. A slight odor or smoke may be present during this initial operation; this is normal and will dissipate.

Operating Instructions

Toasting Bread:

1. Insert up to two slices of bread into the toaster slots. The extra-wide slots accommodate various bread types.
2. Adjust the browning level using the dial control. The digital display will show the selected shade setting (1-7).

3. Press the toast lever down until it locks into place. The digital display will begin counting down the toasting time.

4. Once toasting is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. The lift-assist feature helps in safely removing smaller items.

Special Functions:

• Bagel Function: Ideal for bagels and buns. This setting toasts the cut side of the bagel while gently warming the outer side.
  1. Insert bagel halves with the cut side facing inwards.
  2. Press the "Bagel" button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Press the toast lever down.

• Defrost Function: For toasting frozen bread or pastries. This setting adds extra time to thaw before toasting.
  1. Insert frozen bread into the slots.
  2. Press the "Defrost" button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Press the toast lever down.

• Reheat Function: To warm up previously toasted items without further browning.
  1. Insert the already toasted item into the slots.
  2. Press the "Reheat" button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Press the toast lever down.
• Cancel Function: To stop the toasting cycle at any time.
  1. Press the "Cancel" button. The toast will immediately pop up.

Maintenance and Cleaning

The removable crumb tray makes cleaning simple and helps prevent crumb buildup, which can be a fire hazard.

1. Ensure the toaster is unplugged and completely cool.
2. Pull out the crumb tray located at the back of the toaster.
3. Discard crumbs. Wipe the tray with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
4. Slide the crumb tray back into place until it clicks securely.

Cleaning the Exterior:

Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, a mild non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they may scratch the stainless steel finish.
