4.2 VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)

The headset supports VOX functionality, allowing for hands-free transmission. To use VOX:

  1. Activate VOX on Radio: Refer to your two-way radio's instruction manual to enable the VOX function on the radio itself. The headset's VOX feature requires the radio to also have VOX enabled.
  2. Adjust VOX Sensitivity: If your radio allows, adjust the VOX sensitivity level. A higher sensitivity means the radio will transmit with softer voice input, while lower sensitivity requires louder speech.
  3. Speak to Transmit: Once VOX is active on both the radio and the headset, simply speak into the microphone to initiate transmission. The radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice and stop when you cease speaking.

Note: The headset's VOX function is dependent on the radio's VOX capabilities. Ensure your radio supports and has VOX enabled for this feature to work.

  • Storage: Store the headset in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid tangling the coiled cable.
