2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions when working with vehicle brake and clutch systems:
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves, to protect against brake fluid.
- Brake fluid is corrosive. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and painted surfaces. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Dispose of used brake fluid according to local environmental regulations. Do not mix different types of brake fluid unless specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Ensure the vehicle is securely supported on a level surface using jack stands before working underneath it.
- Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the work area.
- Do not use damaged or modified tools.

4. Setup
- Prepare the Vehicle: Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. If necessary, lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
- Access Bleed Nipple: Locate the brake or clutch bleed nipple on the caliper or slave cylinder. Clean the area around the nipple to prevent contaminants from entering the system.
- Select Adapter: Choose the correct size bleeder adapter (7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, or 12mm) that fits snugly over the bleed nipple. The adapters are color-coded for quick identification.
- Attach Hose: Connect the silicone hose with the integrated check valve to the selected bleeder adapter. Ensure a secure connection.
- Position Collection Container: Place the free end of the silicone hose into a suitable container for collecting old brake fluid. Ensure the hose end is submerged in a small amount of fresh brake fluid to prevent air re-entry, or simply ensure the check valve is functioning correctly.
5. Operating Instructions (Brake/Clutch Bleeding)
Follow these steps to bleed your hydraulic brake or clutch system:
- Fill Master Cylinder: Ensure the master cylinder reservoir is filled to the MAX line with new, clean brake fluid of the correct type specified by your vehicle manufacturer. Monitor the fluid level throughout the bleeding process and refill as necessary to prevent air from entering the system.
- Attach Wrench and Adapter: Place the selected bleeder adapter onto the bleed nipple and then attach the universal bleeder wrench to the adapter. The design allows for a secure fit, minimizing the risk of air ingress or fluid leakage around the nipple.
- Bleeding Process:
- With the wrench and hose securely attached, have an assistant slowly depress the brake/clutch pedal and hold it down.
- While the pedal is held down, slightly open the bleed nipple using the wrench (typically a quarter to half turn). Old fluid and air bubbles will be expelled through the hose into the collection container. The integrated check valve prevents air from being drawn back into the system when the pedal is released.
- Close the bleed nipple.
- Instruct your assistant to slowly release the brake/clutch pedal.
- Repeat this process (depress pedal, open nipple, close nipple, release pedal) until no more air bubbles are visible in the fluid flowing through the hose and the fluid appears clean.
- Maintain Fluid Level: Regularly check and top up the master cylinder reservoir with fresh brake fluid during the bleeding process. Never let the reservoir run dry.
- Repeat for All Nipples: Bleed each brake caliper or clutch slave cylinder in the sequence recommended by your vehicle manufacturer (usually starting with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder).
- Final Check: After bleeding all points, ensure all bleed nipples are securely tightened. Top up the master cylinder reservoir to the MAX line. Test the brake/clutch pedal for firmness before driving the vehicle.
Note: The design of the wrenches allows for easy operation without needing to remove the vehicle's wheels in many cases, depending on vehicle design and accessibility.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, thoroughly clean all components of the kit, especially the hose and adapters, to remove any residual brake fluid. Use a suitable brake cleaner or warm soapy water, then rinse and dry completely.
- Storage: Store the kit in its original storage case in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the silicone hose for cracks, kinks, or damage. Check the adapters and wrench for wear or deformation. Replace any damaged components immediately.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pedal remains spongy after bleeding. | Air still present in the system; master cylinder reservoir ran dry; bleed nipple not fully sealed. | Repeat bleeding process, ensuring master cylinder fluid level is maintained. Check for leaks around bleed nipples. Ensure adapters are securely fitted. |
| Brake fluid leaks around the adapter. | Incorrect adapter size; adapter not fully seated; damaged adapter or bleed nipple. | Ensure the correct adapter size is used and it is fully seated. Inspect adapter and bleed nipple for damage. |
| No fluid or air comes out when bleeding. | Bleed nipple not open; blockage in the system; master cylinder reservoir empty. | Ensure bleed nipple is opened sufficiently. Check master cylinder fluid level. Consult a professional if a blockage is suspected. |
