2. Setup and Assembly
Assembly of the Tepro Keansburg 4 Gas Barbecue is required. Follow the steps below carefully. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.
2.1 Assembly Steps
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Check for any damage.
- Assemble Base Cabinet: Attach the side panels and back panel to the bottom frame. Install the casters, ensuring the locking casters are positioned correctly for stability.
- Install Burner Box: Secure the main burner box onto the assembled base cabinet.
- Attach Side Shelves: Mount the left and right side shelves to the main burner box. The left shelf is foldable.
- Insert Burners: Place the 3 main stainless steel burners, the Power Zone burner, and the ceramic infrared side burner into their respective positions.
- Place Grates and Warming Rack: Position the enameled cast iron cooking grates and the chrome-plated warming rack inside the burner box.
- Connect Gas Hose: Ensure the gas hose and regulator are securely connected to the barbecue's gas inlet and the gas cylinder.
2.2 Gas Connection and Leak Test
Proper gas connection and leak testing are critical for safety.
- Regulator and Hose: Use only the gas regulator and hose supplied with the barbecue, or a replacement approved by the manufacturer.
- Connect to Cylinder: Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder valve. Ensure a tight seal.
- Leak Test Procedure:
- Mix a solution of equal parts liquid dish soap and water.
- Ensure all burner control knobs are in the 'OFF' position.
- Open the gas cylinder valve.
- Apply the soapy solution to all gas connections (regulator to cylinder, hose to regulator, hose to barbecue inlet).
- If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Immediately close the gas cylinder valve and tighten the connection. Repeat the test. If the leak persists, do not use the barbecue and contact customer support.
- Never use an open flame to check for leaks.

3. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your gas barbecue.
3.1 Lighting the Main Burners
- Ensure the gas cylinder valve is open.
- Open the barbecue lid.
- Push in and turn one main burner control knob to the 'HIGH' position.
- Press the electronic igniter button (if equipped) or use a long barbecue lighter to ignite the burner.
- Once lit, release the control knob. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and repeat the process.
- Repeat for other main burners as needed.
3.2 Lighting the Side Burner / Power Zone
The side burner and Power Zone operate similarly to the main burners.
- Open the side burner lid (if applicable).
- Push in and turn the side burner or Power Zone control knob to the 'HIGH' position.
- Press the electronic igniter button or use a long barbecue lighter to ignite.
- Once lit, release the control knob.
