3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge your Starlight-12 mouse. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the mouse and to a powered USB port on your computer or a wall adapter. The mouse features a high-end rechargeable Jauch Lithium Ion battery.

3.2 Connecting the Mouse

The Starlight-12 mouse utilizes Godspeed Wireless technology for reliable and high-performance connectivity.

  1. Insert the wireless USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Turn on the mouse using the power switch located on the underside.
  3. The mouse should automatically connect to the dongle. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section.

Bluetooth connectivity is also supported for versatile use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Functions

  • Left Click: Primary action.
  • Right Click: Secondary action/context menu.
  • Scroll Wheel: Scroll up/down, middle click.
  • Side Buttons: Typically configured for forward/back navigation or custom macros in gaming software.

4.2 DPI/CPI Settings

The Finalsensor offers a resolution of up to 20,000 CPI (Counts Per Inch) and an IPS of ~450+. DPI settings can typically be adjusted via dedicated buttons on the mouse or through accompanying software (if available) to match your preference and game requirements.

4.3 Battery Performance

The Starlight-12 is designed for long battery life due to power optimization. Continuous battery life is estimated at approximately 160 hours. Average use case life is estimated at 3 weeks, while below average use can extend to 7 weeks. Idle use case can last over 16 weeks.

The Finalsensor enters various rest modes after periods of inactivity to conserve power. When testing latency from a standstill, ensure the mouse is not in a rest mode for accurate results.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean your mouse. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no moisture enters the internal components.

5.2 Handling Precautions

The Starlight-12 features a magnesium chassis for lightweight durability. However, the bottom of the mouse is made of Ultem, not magnesium, to allow wireless signals to escape. The Ultem base is not as strong as the magnesium chassis and should not be squeezed or strength-tested like the sides or top of the mouse to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Connectivity Issues: Ensure the USB dongle is securely plugged into your computer and the mouse is powered on. Try a different USB port.
  • Charging Problems: Verify the charging cable is properly connected to both the mouse and a power source. Ensure the power source is active.
  • Sensor Performance: If the mouse cursor is erratic or unresponsive, ensure the optical sensor on the underside is clean and free from obstructions. Use the mouse on a suitable surface (e.g., a mouse pad).
  • Latency Concerns: As the sensor enters rest modes, initial movement might have a slight delay. This is normal behavior for power saving. Consistent high latency might indicate interference or a need to update drivers.
