5. Setup and Installation

The HFeng Access Control Keypad is designed for outdoor installation due to its IP68 waterproof rating. Ensure proper wiring and mounting for optimal performance.

5.1 Mounting

Mount the keypad securely to a flat surface. Refer to the product dimensions for precise placement and drilling.

5.2 Wiring

Connect the keypad to a 12V DC power source. Utilize the WG26/34 Wiegand interface for connecting to an external card reader if desired. The doorbell button can be wired to a compatible external doorbell unit.

6. Operating Instructions

The keypad supports three primary methods for access: fingerprint, RFID card, and password. Programming is done directly on the device.

6.1 Access Methods

  • Fingerprint Access: Place a registered finger on the fingerprint collector.
  • RFID Card Access: Present a registered 13.56MHz MF 1K RFID card to the card reader area.
  • Password Access: Enter the registered password on the touch keypad.

6.2 Programming Users

Use the provided management cards to simplify adding or deleting users. All programming steps are performed directly on the keypad.

  • Add Card: Enter the 3-digit user number, then swipe the add card once or press the fingerprint three times. The buzzer will sound, and the light will flash.
  • Delete Card: Enter the 3-digit user number, then swipe the delete card.

6.3 Backlight Function

The keypad features a blue backlight, ensuring digits are clearly visible even in dark environments.

7. Maintenance

The IP68 rating ensures the keypad is highly resistant to environmental elements. For general maintenance, wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the touch panel.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Keypad Unresponsive: Check the 12V DC power supply connection. Ensure wiring is secure.
  • Fingerprint Not Recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try repositioning your finger on the sensor. Re-enroll your fingerprint if issues persist.
  • RFID Card Not Working: Ensure the card is a 13.56MHz MF 1K type. Verify the card is properly registered.
  • Door Not Unlocking: Check the door opening time setting (0-255 seconds). Verify the lock mechanism is correctly connected and receiving the signal.
  • Backlight Not On: Ensure the keypad is powered correctly. The backlight should activate with keypad interaction.
