Setup and Assembly

Assembly requires at least two adults. Clear a large area for assembly. Do not use power tools for assembly as they may overtighten and damage the wood.

Step 1: Unpack and Identify Parts

Carefully unpack all components and lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratching. Compare each part to the Components List to ensure everything is present.

Step 2: Assemble the Lower Bunk Frame

Connect the headboard, footboard, and side rails for the lower bunk using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are snug but do not fully tighten bolts until the entire frame is assembled.

Step 3: Assemble the Upper Bunk Frame

Repeat the process for the upper bunk frame, connecting the headboard, footboard, and side rails. Attach the guard rails to the upper bunk frame as per the instructions in the hardware pack.

Step 4: Attach the Step Unit

The step unit is reversible. Determine which side you want the step unit to be on (left or right) relative to the bed. Attach the step unit to the bunk bed frame using the designated connectors. Ensure it is securely fastened to both the upper and lower bunk frames.

Step 7: Final Tightening

Once all components are assembled and aligned, go back and fully tighten all bolts and screws. Do not overtighten. Ensure the bed is stable and does not wobble.

Operating Instructions

Using the Bunk Beds

  • Upper Bunk Access: Use the integrated step unit to safely access the upper bunk. Always face the steps when ascending or descending.
  • Mattress Placement: Place a twin-sized mattress on both the upper and lower bunks. For the upper bunk, ensure the mattress thickness does not exceed 6 inches to maintain adequate guard rail height.

Utilizing Storage

  • Step Unit Drawers: The four drawers integrated into the step unit provide convenient storage for smaller items. Pull the handles to open and push to close.
  • Under-Bed Storage Boxes: The two large storage boxes under the lower bunk are equipped with casters for easy rolling in and out. These are ideal for bedding, toys, or other larger items.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the bed frame with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
  • Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) inspect all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary, but do not overtighten.
  • Drawer Maintenance: Keep drawer tracks clean and free of debris to ensure smooth operation. If drawers become stiff, a small amount of silicone spray on the tracks may help.
  • Wood Care: Protect the wood finish from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes to prevent warping or fading.
