Setup

Initial Winding

As an automatic watch, the Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional is powered by the movement of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or its power reserve is low, manually wind it by rotating the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times while it is in position 1 (fully pushed in). This will provide sufficient power to start the movement.

Setting the Time and Date

1. Unscrew the Crown: Gently unscrew the crown counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
2. Set the Date: Pull the crown out to position 2. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent damage to the movement.
3. Set the Time: Pull the crown out to position 3. The seconds hand will stop. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accuracy, synchronize with a reliable time source.
4. Push and Screw Down the Crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the case. This ensures water resistance.

Operating Instructions

Using the Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

The Seastar 2000 Professional features a unidirectional rotating bezel, designed for dive timing. To use it:

1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero marker with the minute hand.
2. The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time on the bezel.
3. The unidirectional rotation prevents accidental increases in dive time.

Helium Escape Valve

This watch is equipped with an automatic helium escape valve, located on the side of the case. This valve is crucial for saturation divers. During decompression in a hyperbaric chamber, helium atoms, which are smaller than water molecules, can penetrate the watch case. As the diver ascends and the external pressure decreases, the trapped helium expands. The automatic valve releases this helium, preventing pressure buildup that could damage the watch crystal.

Water Resistance
