1. Product Overview

The Yooreal Digital Inductive Tach Hour Meter (Model YR-HM011E) is a versatile device designed to monitor engine RPM, track total operating hours, and provide maintenance reminders for various gasoline-powered equipment. 2. Key Features

• Maintenance Timer (SVC): The Total Hours (TOT) can be reset for use on different gasoline engines, with hours reading up to 99999 H. It performs countdown tracking for maintenance tasks (SVC) to remind you of scheduled service, ranging from 0 to 9999.9 hours/OFF.
• Tachometer: Monitors the current RPM value. Supports 3 engine firing patterns for accurate idle revolution adjustment. RPM measurement range: 0-20000 RPM, with a refresh rate of 0.5 seconds.
• Water/Shock Resistance: Features a wholeness housing design, 100% epoxy sealed for favorable waterproof resistance (IP65), and protection against strong shock and vibration during transport.
• Battery Saving: The LCD display can be shut down to extend the battery lifetime (Built-in CR2450, not replaceable) while retaining all user data. The battery back cover includes an insulating sheet to prevent power leakage during transportation.

3. Setup and Installation

The meter offers two primary installation methods: double-sided tape or screw mounting. The inductive cable is approximately 68.8 inches (1.75m) long, allowing flexible placement.

3.1. Physical Installation

1. Double-sided Tape Installation: Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly. Apply the provided high-sticky double-sided tape to the back of the meter and firmly press it onto the surface.
2. Screw Installation: Use appropriate screws (not included) to secure the meter through the pre-drilled holes on its housing to a stable surface.

3.2. Signal Wire Connection

The meter operates by sensing the electromagnetic field from the spark plug wire. Wrap the inductive cable around the spark plug wire of your engine. The number of wraps can affect RPM accuracy; typically 4-5 wraps are sufficient. Secure the cable with the provided cable ties.

4. Operating Instructions

The meter features an LCD display and two buttons, 'M' (Mode) and 'S' (Set), for navigation and configuration.

4.1. Hour Meter (TOT)

The hour meter tracks the total operating time of the engine. It displays hours up to 99999 H. The TOT can be reset for new applications.

4.2. Tachometer (RPM)

When the engine is running, the meter automatically displays the current RPM. The refresh rate is 0.5 seconds, providing near real-time readings. You can select from 3 engine firing patterns to ensure accurate RPM measurement for your specific engine type.

4.3. Maintenance Reminder (SVC)

Set a service interval (SVC) from 0 to 9999.9 hours. The meter will count down from this set value and remind you when maintenance is due.

The meter uses a built-in CR2450 battery which is not replaceable. The battery saving feature allows you to shut down the LCD display to prolong its life. The insulating sheet on the battery back cover prevents leakage during transport and storage.

6. Troubleshooting

While the Yooreal Tach Hour Meter is designed for reliability, here are some general troubleshooting tips:

• No Display/Blank Screen: Ensure the meter is properly connected to the spark plug wire. If the display was previously shut down, press any button to reactivate it. The internal battery may be depleted if the unit is old and has been stored for a very long time without use.
• Inaccurate RPM Readings: Verify the inductive wire is wrapped correctly around the spark plug wire (typically 4-5 times). Ensure the wire is securely fastened and not loose. Check the selected engine firing pattern setting to ensure it matches your engine type.
• Hour Meter Not Advancing: Confirm the engine is running and the meter is receiving a signal from the spark plug wire.
• Service Reminder Not Functioning: Check if the SVC interval has been set correctly. Ensure the total hours (TOT) are accumulating.
