Setup Guide
Powering the Unit
The Soul Press II can be powered by either a standard 9V DC power adapter (center negative) or a 9V battery. For optimal performance and consistent power, a dedicated power supply is recommended.
- DC Power: Connect a 9V DC power adapter to the 'DC 9V' input jack on the side of the pedal.
- Battery Power: To install a 9V battery, carefully open the battery compartment located on the underside of the pedal. Ensure correct polarity when connecting the battery.
Connecting to Your Setup
The Soul Press II offers flexible connectivity options:
- Input: Connect your guitar or other instrument to the 'INPUT' jack.
- Output: Connect the 'OUTPUT' jack to your amplifier or the next pedal in your signal chain.
- EXP OUT: Use this jack to connect the Soul Press II as an expression pedal to other compatible effects units.
- TUNER OUT: Connect this dedicated output to your tuner for silent tuning without affecting your main signal path.

Operating Modes
The Soul Press II features a MODE switch to select between its four primary functions:
- V (Volume): Functions as a standard volume pedal. Press the pedal forward to increase volume, and back to decrease.
- W (Wah): Functions as a wah pedal. Rock the pedal back and forth to achieve the classic wah effect.
- V/W (Volume/Wah): Combines both volume and wah functions. The pedal controls volume when rocked back, and wah when rocked forward.
- EXP (Expression): Functions as a passive expression pedal. Connect to compatible devices via the 'EXP OUT' jack to control various parameters.
Tone Adjustment (Wah Mode)
When in Wah or Volume/Wah mode, use the 'TONE' switch to select between two distinct wah voicings:
- WARM: Provides a smoother, more vintage-inspired wah tone.
- CLASSIC: Offers a more pronounced and traditional wah sound.
Q Control (Wah Mode)
The 'Q' knob allows you to adjust the intensity and sweep range of the wah effect, providing finer control over your tone.

Maintenance
- Keep the pedal clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the pedal to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- When not in use for extended periods, remove the 9V battery to prevent leakage and damage.
- Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent signal loss or intermittent operation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound or weak signal. | Incorrect cable connections, dead battery, power supply issue, pedal not engaged. | Check all cable connections. Replace battery or verify power supply. Ensure pedal is engaged (LEDs on). |
| Wah effect is not prominent. | Incorrect mode selected, Q knob setting, tone switch setting. | Ensure 'W' or 'V/W' mode is selected. Adjust the 'Q' knob. Try 'CLASSIC' tone setting. |
| Volume pedal has a silent gap. | Bottom value adjustment. | Adjust the 'BOTTOM VALUE' switch to allow a slight bleed-through if desired, or to ensure full cutoff. |
