3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

  1. Connect the device to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter) using the provided USB cable.
  2. The indicator light will show charging status. Allow the device to fully charge before first use.

3.2 Setting Date and Time

To ensure accurate timestamps on your recordings, set the date and time:

  1. Connect the device to a computer via the USB cable.
  2. The device will appear as a removable disk. Open the disk.
  3. Locate the userConfig.txt file.
  4. Open this file with a text editor.
  5. Edit the date and time format to match the current date and time (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS).
  6. Save the userConfig.txt file and safely eject the device from your computer.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. The indicator light will illuminate briefly.
  • To Power Off: Slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position. The device will save any active recording and then shut down.

4.2 Video Recording

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Locate the video recording switch (refer to Image 2.2). Slide it to the 'Video' position.
  3. The device will begin recording video with audio. The indicator light may flash or remain solid depending on settings.
  4. To stop recording, slide the switch back to the neutral position. The file will be saved automatically.

4.3 Audio Recording (Voice Recorder Mode)

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Locate the audio recording switch (refer to Image 2.2). Slide it to the 'Audio' position.
  3. The device will begin recording audio only.
  4. To stop recording, slide the switch back to the neutral position. The file will be saved automatically.

4.4 Discreet Operation (Indicator Light Off)

For discreet recording, you can turn off the indicator light:

  • While the device is recording, press and hold the designated button (refer to device diagram if available, or experiment with buttons near the indicator light).
  • The indicator light will turn off, and the device will continue recording without visual cues.

4.5 Recording While Charging

The B1 supports recording while connected to a power source, allowing for extended recording times.

  1. Start video or audio recording as described above.
  2. Connect the device to a USB power source using the USB cable.
  3. The device will continue recording while drawing power.

4.6 Accessing Files

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable.
  2. The device will be recognized as a removable storage device.
  3. Open the device folder to access your recorded video (AVI) and audio (WAV) files.
  4. Copy desired files to your computer.
  5. Always safely eject the device from your computer before disconnecting.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the device, as this will void any potential warranty.
  • Regularly back up your important recordings to prevent data loss.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Device not recording: Check if the Micro SD card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space. Ensure the recording switch is in the correct position.
  • Poor audio/video quality: Ensure the lens and microphone are not obstructed. Record in a well-lit environment for video.
  • Device freezes or becomes unresponsive: Use a thin object (like a paperclip) to gently press the reset hole (refer to Image 2.2) to restart the device.
  • Files not saving: Ensure the device has enough battery power. The device automatically saves files when the battery is low before shutting down.
  • Computer not recognizing device: Try a different USB port or cable. Ensure the device is powered on when connected.
