Setup
Initial Winding
Your Seiko SRPG35 watch is an automatic timepiece that winds itself through the motion of your wrist. However, for initial use or after the watch has stopped, manual winding is recommended to build up the power reserve.
- Ensure the crown is in position 0 (normal position, pushed in).
- Turn the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power to start the watch and allow the automatic winding mechanism to take over.
Setting Time and Date
To set the time and date:
- Pull the crown to position 2 (first click) to set the date and day.
- Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.
- Important: Do not set the date or day between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the time falls within this period, first advance the time past 4:00 AM, then set the date/day, and finally reset the time.
- Pull the crown to position 3 (second click) to set the time. The second hand will stop, allowing for precise time setting.
- Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands. Advance the hands past 12 o'clock to determine if it is AM or PM for correct date change.
- Once the desired time is set, push the crown back to position 0 (normal position). The second hand will resume movement.

Operating Your Watch
Automatic Winding
The Seiko SRPG35 is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. This means the mainspring is wound by the natural motion of your wrist while wearing the watch. When worn regularly (approximately 8-10 hours a day), the watch will maintain its power reserve.
Power Reserve
When fully wound, your watch has a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply manually wind it as described in the 'Initial Winding' section or wear it for a few hours to restart it.
Wearing the Watch
For optimal automatic winding, ensure the watch is worn snugly on your wrist. A loose fit may prevent the rotor from moving sufficiently to wind the mainspring.
Maintenance
Water Resistance
Your Seiko SRPG35 watch is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters). This rating means it is suitable for everyday use, including showering, swimming, and snorkeling. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports.
- Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers (if any) while the watch is wet or submerged in water.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth.

Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch:
- Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly.
- For the nylon strap, a mild soap and water solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and air drying. Ensure the strap is completely dry before reattaching to the watch or wearing.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.
Periodic Inspection
It is recommended to have your watch inspected by an authorized Seiko service center every 2-3 years. This includes checking the water resistance, lubricating the movement, and ensuring overall functionality.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Seiko SRPG35, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Watch has stopped or runs intermittently:
This is common for automatic watches that have not been worn or manually wound sufficiently. Manually wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise 30-40 times, then wear it for several hours. If the issue persists, it may require professional inspection. - Time or date is incorrect:
Refer to the 'Setting Time and Date' section to correctly adjust the watch. Ensure you avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM. - Condensation inside the crystal:
This indicates moisture has entered the watch. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to dry it yourself, as this can cause further damage.
For any issues not covered here, or if problems persist, please contact an authorized Seiko service center.
