HOGART Electric Faucet with Instant Water Heating

Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the HOGART Electric Faucet with Instant Water Heating. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your new instant hot water tap. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and first use, and keep it for future reference.

This electric faucet is designed to provide instant hot water for various applications, including kitchens, gardens, bathrooms, caravans, and camping setups. It features a rapid heating system and comes with two interchangeable spout types to suit your needs.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the faucet is connected to a properly grounded 230V electrical outlet. All electrical connections should comply with local regulations. Do not operate the faucet if the power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Water Temperature: The water temperature can reach 50-70 degrees Celsius, especially at low flow rates. Exercise caution to prevent burns, particularly when children or elderly individuals are using the faucet.
  • Water Flow: The water temperature is inversely proportional to the flow rate. Higher flow rates result in lower temperatures, and lower flow rates result in higher temperatures. Adjust the flow rate carefully to achieve the desired temperature.
  • Winter Operation: During cold winter periods, the maximum achievable water temperature may be lower (around 30-40 degrees Celsius) due to colder incoming water. For large quantities of very hot water, a traditional water heater is recommended.
  • Leakage Test: Each faucet is factory-tested for leaks. Finding residual water inside the unit is normal and indicates it has passed quality control.
  • Installation: Installation should be performed by a qualified individual if you are unsure. Ensure all water connections are secure to prevent leaks.

5. Setup and Installation

The HOGART Electric Faucet is designed for DIY installation, but professional assistance is recommended if you are not familiar with plumbing or electrical work. The unit is supplied as a complete kit for quick and easy setup.

5.1 Pre-Installation Requirements

  • Countertop Thickness: The extended thread allows connection to worktops up to 30 mm (1.18 inches) thick.
  • Mounting Hole: A minimum opening of 36 mm (1.42 inches) is required for the electrical cable to pass through under the worktop.
  • Water Supply: Ensure a stable cold water supply connection (1/2" F).
  • Electrical Supply: A dedicated 230V electrical outlet is required.

5.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Mounting Area: Ensure the countertop hole is clean and of the correct size.
  2. Install the Faucet Body: Insert the faucet body into the mounting hole. Secure it from underneath the countertop using the provided washers and nuts. Ensure the faucet is firmly seated and aligned.
  3. Connect Water Supply: Attach the provided water supply hose to the faucet's inlet and to your cold water supply line. Use appropriate tools to tighten connections, ensuring no leaks.
  4. Connect Electrical Cable: Route the electrical cable through the designated opening under the countertop. Plug the faucet into a grounded 230V electrical outlet. Ensure the cable is not pinched or damaged.
  5. Attach Spout: Choose either the flexible or classic solid spout and securely attach it to the top of the faucet body.
  6. Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply and check all connections for any signs of leakage. Address any leaks immediately by tightening connections.
  7. Initial Operation: Before turning on the power, open the faucet to allow water to flow through until it runs smoothly, expelling any trapped air. Then, you can proceed to operate the faucet.

6. Operating Instructions

Operating your HOGART Electric Faucet is straightforward:

  1. Turn on Water: Rotate the faucet handle to the desired position (cold or hot).
  2. Instant Hot Water: When the handle is moved to the hot water position, the heating element will activate, and hot water will begin to flow within approximately 5 seconds.
  3. Temperature Display: The integrated LED display will show the current water temperature as it flows.
  4. Adjusting Temperature: The water temperature is primarily controlled by the flow rate. To achieve higher temperatures, reduce the water flow. For lower temperatures, increase the water flow. The temperature range is typically between 25 and 50 degrees Celsius.
  5. Switching Spouts: If you wish to change between the flexible and classic solid spout, ensure the water supply is turned off before detaching and reattaching the desired spout.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your HOGART Electric Faucet.

  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the faucet regularly with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the chrome finish.
  • Aerator Descaling: If you live in an area with hard water, the aerator (the mesh screen at the spout's end) can become clogged with limescale. It is recommended to descale the aerator every 3 weeks to prevent pressure buildup and potential internal damage. To do this, unscrew the aerator, soak it in a descaling solution (e.g., vinegar), and rinse thoroughly before reattaching.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all water and electrical connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Tighten as necessary.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your HOGART Electric Faucet, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No hot water / Water not heatingNo power; Insufficient water flow; Heating element malfunction.Check electrical connection and outlet. Ensure adequate water flow. If problem persists, contact customer support.
Water is too hot or too coldIncorrect flow rate; Cold incoming water temperature.Adjust water flow rate (lower flow for hotter, higher flow for cooler). Note that very cold incoming water in winter may limit maximum temperature.
Water leakageLoose connections; Damaged seals.Check and tighten all water connections. If leakage persists, inspect seals or contact customer support. (Note: Residual water inside the unit from factory testing is normal and not a leak.)
Low water pressureClogged aerator; Insufficient main water pressure.Clean or descale the aerator. Check main water supply pressure.

If you are unable to resolve the issue using these steps, please contact HOGART customer support for further assistance.
