4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your CHACON IPCAM-RI03 camera:

  1. Power On: Connect the provided USB cable to the camera's power port and the power adapter. Plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The camera will power on automatically.
  2. Download My Chacon App: Download the 'My Chacon' application from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your smartphone.
  3. Create Account & Add Device: Open the My Chacon app, create a new account or log in. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. Select the camera model (IPCAM-RI03) from the list.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi: The app will guide you through connecting the camera to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz only). Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
  5. Mounting (Optional): The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a wall. If mounting, use appropriate screws and anchors (not included) to secure the camera base. Ensure the camera has a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, you can control and monitor your camera using the My Chacon app:

  • Live View: Open the My Chacon app and select your camera from the device list to view the live feed.
  • Pan & Tilt Control: Use the directional controls within the app to remotely rotate the camera horizontally (355°) and vertically (55°) to adjust the viewing angle.
  • Two-Way Audio: Tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's speaker, and listen to audio from the camera's microphone.
  • Recording & Playback:
    • Manual Recording: Tap the record button in the live view to start/stop manual recording.
    • Motion-Activated Recording: Enable motion detection in the app settings. The camera will automatically record when motion is detected.
    • Playback: Access recorded footage from the 'Playback' or 'Event' section in the app.
  • Night Vision: The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions. This can also be manually toggled in the app settings.
  • Smart Home Integration: Follow the instructions in your Google Home or Amazon Alexa app to link your My Chacon account and enable voice commands for your camera.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your camera, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the lens or surface.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the My Chacon app for available firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated ensures the camera has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Power Cycle: If the camera becomes unresponsive, unplug it from the power source for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the camera is used within its specified operating temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or excessive moisture.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
