1. Introduction

The Wildgame Innovations Switch Trail Camera (Model EZ4BW-20) is designed for outdoor surveillance and wildlife monitoring. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your trail camera to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the camera.
  2. Open the battery compartment latch.
  3. Insert 8 new AA alkaline or lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment securely to ensure a waterproof seal.

Important: Always use fresh batteries and replace all 8 batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.

3.2 SD Card Installation

  1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the SD card slot.
  3. Insert a Class 4 or higher SD card (up to 32 GB recommended) into the slot with the label facing up until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove, press the SD card gently until it springs out.

Note: Formatting the SD card in the camera before first use is recommended for optimal performance.

3.3 Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted using the provided strap or a wall mount (sold separately).

  • Strap Mounting: Thread the mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera and secure it around a tree or post. Adjust the camera angle as needed.
  • Wall Mount: Attach a compatible wall mount to a desired surface. Secure the camera to the wall mount using the designated mounting points.

Position the camera approximately 3-6 feet (1-2 meters) from the ground, pointing towards the area you wish to monitor.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, slide the power switch to the "ON" position. The LCD display will illuminate.
  • To power off, slide the power switch to the "OFF" position.

4.2 Basic Settings and Modes

Use the camera's internal LCD display and navigation buttons to adjust settings. The camera offers various presets for quick setup.

  • Photo Mode: Captures still images.
  • Video Mode: Records video clips.
  • Photo + Video Mode: Captures a still image followed by a video clip.
  • Time Lapse Mode: Captures images at set intervals.

Refer to the on-screen menu for detailed options such as resolution, delay, and sensitivity.

4.3 Using the HuntSmart™ App

The Wildgame Innovations Switch Trail Camera is compatible with the HuntSmart™ Ultimate Scouting App, available for download on iOS and Android devices. This app allows for wireless connectivity and advanced camera control.

  1. Download the HuntSmart™ app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your camera via Wi-Fi.
  3. Once connected, you can view images, change settings, and manage your camera remotely.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and housing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when performance degrades.
  • SD Card Management: Regularly format your SD card to prevent data corruption and ensure sufficient storage space.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and store the camera in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Solution
Camera not powering on. Check battery polarity. Ensure batteries are fresh and fully charged. Verify battery compartment is closed securely.
No images/videos captured. Ensure SD card is inserted correctly and has sufficient space. Check camera settings (e.g., delay, sensitivity). Verify motion sensor is clear.
Poor image/video quality. Clean the camera lens. Ensure camera is stable and not vibrating. Check resolution settings.
