5. Setup and Installation

- Mounting Plate Installation: Attach the mounting plate (C) to the junction box using the provided screws (D, E). Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Wiring Connections:
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box. Secure with a wire nut (F).
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box. Secure with a wire nut (F).
- Connect the ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the junction box (or to the green ground screw on the mounting plate). Secure with a wire nut (F).
Note: If your house wiring does not include a ground wire, consult a qualified electrician.
- Canopy Attachment: Carefully push the fixture's canopy (A) up against the ceiling, aligning the mounting screws (J) with the holes in the canopy. Secure with decorative nuts (K).
- Shade and Diffuser Assembly:
- Install the light bulbs (P, not included) into the sockets (M).
- Place the etched glass diffuser (U) into the bottom of the fabric shade (T).
- Attach the fabric shade assembly to the fixture using the finial (BB) and washer (CC).
