1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-N RTX 3090/3080 Turbo with Backplate, Model 11975. This high-performance water block is designed to provide efficient liquid cooling for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 graphics cards, featuring an acrylic top, nickel-plated copper base, and integrated digital RGB lighting.
The design focuses on enhanced cooling performance by optimizing the water flow and reducing the thickness of the copper block to 5.5 mm. Thermal pads are set at 1 mm thickness to ensure close contact with components. The integrated addressable RGB LEDs illuminate the entire block, providing aesthetic customization.
2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect power from your computer before installation or maintenance.
- Handle components with care to avoid damage.
- Ensure all fittings are securely tightened to prevent leaks.
- Use only approved coolants for liquid cooling systems.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified technician.
3. Package Contents
Please verify that all items are present before beginning installation:

- Installation Guide (this document)
4. Setup and Installation
Careful installation is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent damage. Follow these steps precisely:
- Prepare the Graphics Card:
- Remove the existing cooler and backplate from your RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 graphics card.
- Clean the GPU die and memory chips thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove all traces of old thermal paste and pads.
- Apply Thermal Pads:
- Cut the provided thermal pads to the correct sizes as indicated in the diagram (if provided separately) or use the pre-cut pads.
- Apply the 1 mm thick thermal pads to the memory modules and voltage regulator components on the graphics card PCB. Ensure full coverage and good contact.
- Apply Thermal Paste:
- Apply a small amount of thermal paste to the center of the GPU die. A pea-sized dot or a thin line is usually sufficient. The pressure from the water block will spread it evenly.
- Mount the Water Block:
- Carefully align the water block with the mounting holes on the graphics card.
- Gently lower the water block onto the GPU, ensuring the thermal paste and pads make proper contact.
- Secure the water block using the provided screws. Tighten them in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure, but do not overtighten.
- Install the Backplate:
- Apply any necessary thermal pads to the backplate as per instructions (if applicable).
- Align the backplate with the mounting holes on the rear of the graphics card.
- Secure the backplate with the remaining screws.
- Connect Liquid Cooling Loop:
- Install your chosen fittings into the G1/4" ports on the water block. Ensure they are hand-tightened securely.
- Connect the water block to your liquid cooling loop using appropriate tubing.
- Perform a leak test for at least 24 hours with only the pump running and no power to other components.
- Connect RGB Lighting:
- Connect the digital RGB adapter cable from the water block to a compatible 3-pin 5V addressable RGB header on your motherboard or a dedicated RGB controller.

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and leak-tested, the water block operates as part of your custom liquid cooling loop. Ensure your pump is running and coolant is circulating whenever the computer is powered on.
5.1. RGB Lighting Control
The integrated digital RGB LEDs can be controlled via your motherboard's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion) or a compatible external RGB controller. Refer to your motherboard or controller manual for specific software instructions to customize lighting effects and colors.
6. Maintenance
- Coolant Replacement: It is recommended to replace the coolant in your loop every 6-12 months to prevent buildup and maintain optimal performance.
- System Flush: Periodically flush your entire liquid cooling system with distilled water to remove any contaminants before refilling with fresh coolant.
- Visual Inspection: Regularly inspect tubing, fittings, and the water block for any signs of leaks, discoloration, or particulate buildup.
- Cleaning: If necessary, the exterior of the water block can be gently wiped with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Coolant Flow: Check pump power connection and ensure the pump is functioning. Verify there are no kinks in tubing.
- Leaks: Immediately shut down the system. Inspect all fittings and connections. Re-tighten any loose fittings. If a component is damaged, replace it.
- Poor Cooling Performance:
- Ensure thermal paste and pads are correctly applied and making good contact.
- Check for air bubbles trapped in the water block or radiator.
- Verify pump speed and radiator fan speeds are adequate.
- Consider if the cooling capacity of your loop is sufficient for your hardware.
- RGB Lighting Not Working:
- Check the connection to the motherboard or RGB controller.
- Ensure the RGB header is enabled in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI.
- Verify that the correct RGB software is installed and configured.
