6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Stitch Quick+, refer to the common problems and solutions below.

Troubleshooting guide for poor stitches

Image 6.1: Common causes of poor stitches and how to address them.

  1. Poor Stitches:
    • The upper threading is not correct. Re-thread the machine carefully.
    • The presser foot is not in the down position. Lower the presser foot before sewing.
    • The needle is not fully inserted in the needle bar. Ensure the needle is pushed up as far as it can go and secured with the clamp screw.
    • The needle eye is not facing the right or the left of the machine. Ensure the needle is correctly oriented.
    • The needle is bent. Replace with a new, straight needle.
    • Lower threading is not correct. Check the bobbin placement and threading in the bobbin case.
    • The wrong size bottom bobbin is used. Use only bobbins designed for this machine.
    • Upper threading is too loose. Adjust the tension dial to a higher number.
    • The bobbin placement in the case is not in the right position, which will block its correct movement. Re-seat the bobbin correctly.
  2. Machine Not Turning On:
    • Check if batteries are correctly inserted and are fresh Alkaline batteries.
    • If using an AC adapter, ensure it is properly connected and functional.
    • Ensure the mode selector switch is not in the LOCK position.
