5. How to Play (Operating Instructions)
Alien: Fate of The Nostromo is a cooperative game where players must work together to achieve their goals. The game proceeds in rounds, with each player taking a turn to perform actions and react to events.
5.1. Player Turns
During your turn, you will typically:
- Move: Navigate through the Nostromo, exploring different rooms and corridors.
- Perform Actions: Gather supplies (Scrap, Items, Coolant), craft new items, or attempt to complete objectives.
- Encounter Phase: Draw and resolve Encounter Cards, which may introduce new challenges or the Alien's movement.
5.2. Objectives and Missions
The game involves completing a series of Objective Cards, which are smaller tasks necessary for survival. Once enough objectives are met, the crew can attempt one of five Final Missions to win the game. Failure to complete objectives or missions, or if morale drops to zero, results in a loss for all players.
5.3. Evading the Alien
The Alien is a constant threat. Players must use strategy and teamwork to evade its pursuit, utilizing concealed tokens and planning their movements carefully. The Alien's movement and actions are determined by game mechanics and Encounter Cards.
