3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The scale includes batteries.
4. Close the battery cover securely.

3.2 Placement

For accurate readings, place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring, as this can affect accuracy.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Measurement

1. Gently tap the scale with your foot or hand to activate it. The display will show "Hello" (if voice is enabled) and then zeros.
2. Wait for the scale to display "0.0" and say "I'm Ready" (if voice is enabled).
3. Step onto the center of the scale platform with bare feet, standing still.
4. Your weight will be displayed on the LCD screen and announced verbally (if voice is enabled).
5. The scale will automatically turn off after approximately 10 seconds of non-use, announcing "Good-bye" (if voice is enabled).

4.2 Changing Weighing Units

The XL-700 supports three weighing modes: pounds (LB), kilograms (KG), and stones (ST).

1. With the scale off, locate the "UNIT" button on the underside of the scale (refer to Image 3).
2. Press the "UNIT" button repeatedly to cycle through the available units: LB, KG, ST.
3. The selected unit will be indicated on the LCD display.

4.3 Voice Function Control

The talking feature can be turned on or off, and the language can be changed.

1. Voice On/Off: Locate the voice switch on the underside of the scale (refer to Image 3). Slide the switch to the desired position.
2. Language Selection: With the voice function enabled, press and hold the "UNIT" button on the underside of the scale to cycle through English, German, French, and Spanish. Release the button when your desired language is announced.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the scale with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.

5.2 Battery Replacement

If the display becomes dim or the voice function is unclear, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.1.

• No Display/No Power: Check if batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
• Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface. Avoid moving the scale between measurements. Recalibrate by stepping off, waiting for it to turn off, then stepping on again.
• Voice Not Working: Check the voice on/off switch on the underside of the scale. Ensure batteries are not low.
• "Lo" or "Err" Message: Indicates low battery or an error. Replace batteries or re-attempt measurement.
