Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your animal repellent:

  1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the main unit, mounting pole sections, and ground stake are present.
  2. Assemble the Mounting Pole: Connect the pole sections together. Attach the main unit to the top of the assembled pole.
  3. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Insert the included batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  4. Choose a Location:
    • Select an area where animal activity is observed.
    • Ensure the solar panel receives direct sunlight for several hours daily to maintain battery charge.
    • Position the device so the PIR sensor faces the area you wish to protect.
    • Avoid placing it behind large obstacles that could block the sensor or sunlight.
  5. Install the Device:
    • Ground Installation: Gently push the ground stake into the soil until the unit is stable and at the desired height. Do not force it into hard ground; pre-dig a small hole if necessary.
    • Wall Mounting: (Optional) Use the mounting holes on the back of the unit to secure it to a wall or fence using appropriate screws (not included).

Operating Instructions

Once installed, adjust the settings to suit your needs.

  1. Power On: The device typically activates automatically once batteries are inserted and it detects motion. Some models may have an ON/OFF switch; refer to the specific product label if present.
  2. Adjust Sensitivity (Left Knob):
    • Turn the left knob (labeled "Sensitive" or similar) to adjust the detection range of the PIR sensor.
    • Rotate clockwise for a wider and more sensitive detection range.
    • Rotate counter-clockwise for a narrower and less sensitive detection range.
    • Adjust as needed to avoid false triggers from small movements or distant objects.
  3. Select Frequency (Right Knob):
    • Turn the right knob (labeled "Freq" or similar) to select one of the 5 available ultrasonic frequencies.
    • Each frequency setting is designed to target different animal species. Experiment with different settings to find the most effective one for the animals you wish to repel.
    • The device may also emit a flash light when motion is detected, especially in low-light conditions, to enhance deterrence.

The PIR motion detector is designed to react only to body heat, minimizing unwanted activations from non-living objects like leaves or branches.
