4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Filter Installation
Before first use, the filters must be installed correctly. The filters are typically packaged separately to maintain their effectiveness.
- Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging.
- Open the Rear Cover: Locate the rear cover of the air purifier. Gently press the release tabs (if present) or pull the cover to remove it.
- Remove Existing Filters (if any): If there are any placeholder filters or plastic wrapping on the pre-installed filters, remove them.
- Install Activated Carbon Filter (IA300PF): Place the IA300PF activated carbon filter into the designated slot. Ensure it sits flush against the back panel. This filter is designed to absorb odors.
- Install HEPA Filter (PMAC-100HF): Place the PMAC-100HF HEPA filter in front of the activated carbon filter. Ensure the filter is oriented correctly (check for arrows or labels indicating airflow direction). This filter captures fine particles.
- Close the Rear Cover: Reattach the rear cover, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
4.2 Placement
For optimal performance, consider the following when placing your air purifier:
- Place the unit on a firm, level surface.
- Ensure there is at least 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) of clear space around the air intake and outlet vents for proper air circulation.
- Avoid placing the unit directly against a wall or furniture.
- Position the air purifier in the center of the room or in an area where air quality improvement is most desired.
- Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Press the Power Button on the control panel. The unit will typically start in Automatic mode.
- To Power Off: Press the Power Button again.
5.2 Mode Selection
Your air purifier offers various operating modes:
- Automatic Mode: The unit automatically adjusts fan speed based on the detected air quality (dust sensor readings). This is the recommended mode for general use.
- Manual Fan Speed: Press the Fan Speed Button to cycle through different fan speeds (e.g., Low, Medium, High, Turbo).
- Sleep Mode: Reduces fan speed and dims display lights for quiet operation during sleep.
5.3 Dust Sensor and Monitor
The MSAP-AC100 is equipped with a dust sensor that detects airborne particles and displays the air quality level numerically on the monitor. The color of the indicator light may also change to reflect air quality:
- Green/Blue: Good air quality.
- Yellow/Orange: Moderate air quality.
- Red: Poor air quality.
In Automatic mode, the fan speed will increase when the sensor detects poor air quality and decrease as the air quality improves.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air purifier. Always unplug the unit before cleaning or replacing filters.
6.1 Filter Replacement
The HEPA (PMAC-100HF) and Activated Carbon (IA300PF) filters are not washable and must be replaced periodically. A filter replacement indicator light on the control panel will illuminate when it's time to replace the filters (typically every 6-12 months, depending on usage and air quality).
- Unplug the Unit: Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove Rear Cover: Open the rear cover as described in the setup section.
- Remove Old Filters: Carefully remove the used HEPA and activated carbon filters. Dispose of them properly.
- Install New Filters: Install new PMAC-100HF HEPA and IA300PF activated carbon filters, following the installation steps in Section 4.1.
- Close Rear Cover: Reattach the rear cover securely.
- Reset Filter Indicator: After replacing filters, plug in the unit and press and hold the Filter Reset Button (refer to your unit's control panel layout) for a few seconds until the indicator light turns off.
6.2 Cleaning the Unit
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the air purifier with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Air Intake/Outlet Vents: Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust from the air intake and outlet vents.
6.3 Cleaning the Dust Sensor
The dust sensor should be cleaned periodically (e.g., every 2-3 months) to ensure accurate readings.
- Unplug the Unit: Disconnect the power cord.
- Locate Sensor Cover: The dust sensor is usually located on the side or rear of the unit, often behind a small cover. Open this cover.
- Clean Sensor Lens: Use a dry cotton swab to gently wipe the sensor lens and the surrounding area. Do not use water or cleaning solutions.
- Close Sensor Cover: Close the sensor cover securely.
