The SMARTRO Wireless Remote Sensor (SENSOR92) is a compact, battery-powered device designed to transmit outdoor or indoor environmental data to a compatible main unit. It features a digital display showing current temperature (in °C or °F) and humidity (%RH). The sensor is equipped with a wall-mount hole and a table stand for versatile placement.

Setup and Installation

  1. Battery Installation:

    • Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor (refer to Figure 2).
    • Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). Batteries are not included.
    • Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  2. Channel Selection:

    • Locate the 1 to 3 Channel Switch inside the battery compartment (refer to Figure 2).
    • Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) for the sensor. If you are using multiple sensors, ensure each sensor is set to a different channel.
  3. Pairing with Main Unit:

    • Place the sensor within close proximity to your SMARTRO main unit (e.g., SC91 or SC62).
    • On the sensor, press the "TX" button (Transmit button) located inside the battery compartment (refer to Figure 2). This will send a signal to the main unit.
    • Follow the pairing instructions for your specific SMARTRO main unit to establish a connection. The main unit should display the sensor's readings.
  4. Placement:

    • The sensor can be placed on a flat surface using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall using the wall-mount hole.
    • For outdoor use, choose a location that is protected from direct sunlight and heavy rain to ensure accuracy and longevity. The transmission range is up to 200ft/60m in an open area.

Operating Instructions

  • Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F):

    • To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), open the battery compartment cover.
    • Press the "°C/°F" selection button located inside the compartment (refer to Figure 2). The display will update accordingly.
  • Reading Display:

    • The sensor's digital display shows the current temperature and humidity readings.
    • These readings are also transmitted wirelessly to your paired SMARTRO main unit.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement:

    • When the battery indicator on the sensor or main unit shows low power, replace both AA batteries promptly.
    • Ensure proper polarity during installation.
  • Cleaning:

    • Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Environmental Protection:

    • Keep the sensor away from direct sunlight and heavy rain to prevent damage and ensure accurate readings.
