2. Important Safety Information

To ensure safe operation and prolong the life of your scale, please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Always place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Uneven surfaces can affect accuracy.
  • Do not use the scale on wet or slippery floors to prevent falls.
  • The maximum weight capacity is 150 kg (330 lbs). Do not exceed this limit to avoid damage to the scale and potential injury.
  • Keep the scale dry. Avoid contact with water or other liquids.
  • Clean the scale with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • This scale is for personal use only and not intended for commercial or medical purposes.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • If the scale is damaged, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact customer support.

3. Setup and First Use

3.1. Battery Installation

Your Decathlon 100 scale typically uses standard AAA batteries (not always included). Follow these steps to install or replace batteries:

  1. Turn the scale over to access the battery compartment on the underside.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2. Initial Calibration

For accurate readings, it is recommended to perform an initial calibration:

  1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
  2. Gently step on the scale with one foot, then immediately step off. The display should show "0.0" or flash briefly before turning off. This indicates the scale has calibrated itself.
  3. Your scale is now ready for use.

  2. Gently step onto the scale with bare feet, distributing your weight evenly.
  3. Stand still until your weight is displayed and stabilizes on the LCD screen.
  4. Step off the scale. The display will hold your weight for a few seconds before turning off automatically.

4.2. Unit Conversion (if applicable)

Some models may have a unit conversion button (usually on the underside near the battery compartment) to switch between kilograms (kg), pounds (lb), or stones (st). Press this button to cycle through the available units.

5. Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale surface with a soft, damp cloth. A mild glass cleaner can be used for stubborn marks. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents.
  • Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid placing heavy objects on the scale when not in use.
