Proper setup ensures optimal performance and safety of your dehumidifier.
4.1. Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging.
- Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. If damage is found, contact your supplier immediately.
- Place the dehumidifier on a stable, level surface in the area requiring dehumidification. Ensure there is at least 1 foot (30 cm) of clear space around all sides for proper airflow.
- For best results, close all doors and windows in the area to be dehumidified.
4.2. Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the unit.
- Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage (115 Volts).
- Avoid using extension cords if possible. If an extension cord is necessary, use a heavy-duty, grounded cord of appropriate gauge for the unit's wattage (770.5 watts).
4.3. Drainage Setup
The XD-85L2 features an integrated auto purge pump for continuous drainage. The drain hose is stored in the integrated compartment.
