1. Product Overview

The Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer is designed to remove excess moisture from 3D printer filaments, which is crucial for preventing common printing issues such as stringing, bubbling, and poor layer adhesion. This device features real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity, an upgraded fan for even heating, and a sealed design for effective drying and storage. It is compatible with various filament types including PLA, PETG, TPU, and ABS, and supports both 1.75mm and 2.85mm filament diameters.

3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer:

  1. Placement: Place the filament dryer on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Filament Loading: Open the transparent lid. Place your filament spool(s) inside the dryer. The dryer can accommodate two filament rolls with a width of less than 70mm each, or one filament roll with a width of less than 150mm.
  3. Filament Outlet: Guide the filament through the designated filament outlet. Ensure the filament is placed counterclockwise for optimal feeding, especially when used as a spool holder during printing.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the dryer and plug it into a suitable power outlet.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the dryer with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Desiccant Replacement: If using desiccants, monitor their condition and replace them as needed according to the desiccant manufacturer's instructions.
  • Lid Ventilation: During active heating, it is important to open the PTFE seals on the top of the box to allow moisture to evaporate. For very high humidity, occasionally open the main lid for a few hours to vent.

6. Troubleshooting

Refer to the following common issues and their solutions:

  • Automatic Shutdown/Not Working: The filament dryer will switch itself off within 3 minutes if 'WORK' is not displayed on the screen. After setting the temperature and drying time, ensure you press the 'M' button again to enter working mode.
  • High Humidity Inside the Box: If humidity gets trapped, it is recommended to open the lid several times over a few hours to vent the humidity. Alternatively, you can place 2 small bags of desiccant inside the dryer.
  • Fan Noise: Fan noise may be caused by interference between the cable in the drying box and the fan blades. Open the drying box to fine-tune the position of the fan. Check if the fan blades are interfered with by circuit lines and comb if any. If the noise persists, contact customer support.
  • E0 and E1 Errors: If the screen displays E0 and E1 errors, open the drying box and check all cable sockets on the motherboard for damage or looseness. If problems persist, contact customer support for replacement.
