4. Operating Modes
The C-LOGIC 420-TC offers several operating modes to suit your needs:
- Manual Mode: Allows you to set a constant desired temperature that the system will maintain until changed.
- Temporary Manual Mode: Overrides the current program for a set period, after which it reverts to the programmed schedule.
- Holiday Mode: Maintains a specific temperature for an extended period (e.g., during a vacation) to save energy while preventing freezing.
- Automatic Programs: The thermostat includes three automatic programs:
- P1 (Configurable Weekly): Allows you to set a personalized heating/cooling schedule for each day of the week.
- P2 (Predefined): A factory-set program for typical daily use.
- P3 (Predefined): Another factory-set program, offering a different schedule.
5. Programming Weekly Schedule (P1)
To configure Program P1, navigate to the programming menu using the thermostat's controls. You will typically be able to set different temperature targets for various time segments throughout each day of the week. Consult the full instruction manual for detailed steps on setting specific time and temperature points for P1.
6. Advanced Settings
The C-LOGIC 420-TC includes several advanced settings for fine-tuning its operation:
- Screen Lock: Prevents unintended changes to settings, useful in public areas or homes with children.
- Adjustable Hysteresis (1–9 °C): Controls the temperature differential before the heating/cooling system activates. A smaller hysteresis means more frequent but precise temperature control.
- Temperature Compensation: Allows for calibration of the displayed temperature if it differs from an external reference.
- Automatic Anti-freeze/Descaling Function: Helps protect your heating system from freezing and reduces scale buildup in valves.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the transmitter's LCD screen, replace the 2 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Use high-quality alkaline batteries for best performance.
7.2 Cleaning
Wipe the thermostat's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the device.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your C-LOGIC 420-TC thermostat, consider the following:
- No Display/Power: Check transmitter batteries. Ensure receiver is properly connected to 230V power.
- No Communication (RF Signal Lost): Ensure both units are within range (max 30m indoors). Check for obstructions or interference. Re-pair the units if necessary (refer to section 3.5).
- Incorrect Temperature Reading: Verify temperature compensation settings. Ensure the transmitter is not placed near heat sources or drafts.
- System Not Responding: Check receiver wiring to the boiler. Ensure the boiler itself is operational. Verify the thermostat is in the correct operating mode.
For persistent issues, consult the comprehensive troubleshooting guide in the full product manual or contact customer support.
