Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioning unit.
Cleaning the Dust Filter:
The Milan 9K has a built-in dust filter that should be cleaned regularly (every two weeks or more often depending on usage and air quality).
- Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- Locate the filter access panel (usually at the back or side of the unit).
- Remove the dust filter.
- Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.
- Close the filter access panel.
Draining Accumulated Water:
During the cooling process, moisture is removed from the air and collects inside the unit. The unit may have an internal reservoir or a continuous drain option.
- Manual Drainage: When the internal water tank is full, the unit may stop operating and display an indicator. Place a shallow pan or tray under the drain port (usually at the bottom rear of the unit) and remove the drain plug to empty the water. Replace the plug securely after draining.
- Continuous Drainage: For continuous operation in high humidity, attach the provided drain hose to the continuous drain port and direct the other end to a suitable drain or container.
Cleaning the Unit Exterior:
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
Storage:
If storing the unit for an extended period:
- Drain all accumulated water from the unit.
- Clean the dust filter.
- Run the unit in fan-only mode for a few hours to dry the internal components.
- Unplug the power cord and coil it neatly.
- Store the unit in a dry, cool place, preferably in its original packaging.
