Operating Instructions

1. Adjusting Cutting Height

The STIGA Collector 543 AE KIT features a central cutting height adjustment lever. Locate the lever near one of the wheels (as shown in Figure 4). Pull the lever outwards and move it up or down to select the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are at the same height setting for an even cut.

2. Starting the Mower

Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Press and hold the safety button (if present) on the handle, then pull the bail lever towards the handle. The motor should start. Release the safety button once the motor is running.

3. Mowing Technique

Mow in overlapping rows to ensure complete coverage. For best results, avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. If the grass is very tall, make two passes, raising the cutting height for the first pass. Mow when the grass is dry.

4. Stopping the Mower

Release the bail lever to stop the motor. Always remove the battery when the mower is not in use or before performing any adjustments or maintenance.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your STIGA lawn mower. Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance.

1. Cleaning the Mower

After each use, clean the underside of the cutting deck to remove grass clippings and debris. Use a brush or a damp cloth. Do not use a high-pressure washer directly on the mower. Clean the grass collection bag regularly.

2. Blade Inspection and Sharpening

Regularly inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull blade tears grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn. If the blade is dull or damaged, have it sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician. Always wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade.

3. Battery Care

Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity. Do not store fully discharged batteries.
